Thanks!!! So any idea why this controller is not actually sold in the US?
It will not work here they are bassackwards over they. They even built trucks with steering wheels on the wrong side. :wink2:

My guess would be that it's a very small Australian company that just doesn't do any major exporting. The do all their manufacturing in Australia.

Watched the you tube videos … all seems good. What are you towing and when can you provide an update on functionality? I have a 3800 lbs dry weight dual axle RV (sorry if you already posted this previously)

I understand that the F27 provides power to the brake control module when we install it (2015s, 2016 non-diesel?) If you read my description of my brake control installation, I pulled that fuse for the very reason Reverendbiker mentions he popped the fuse accidentally. It also allowed me to install my wiring without having to disconnect the battery ground and worry what I might be resetting with all the crazy electronics on the trucks.

Well, I sure appreciate the efforts you have made here. The reviews you have provided here have been invaluable to me - there is no way I would have been brave enough to install a brake control module on my truck prior to reading your installation instructions you did a year ago. The interesting thing is I have personally wired 100 amp, 480 VAC 3-phase motors, have wired sensitive electronics, installed power supplies, memory chips, etc. in computer motherboards, and have supervised and instructed technicians on dozens if not hundreds of installations of industrial machinery & equipment, most of it being 480 VAC 3-phase equipment. But the idea of ripping a plastic panel off my $35K truck and attaching 4 wires to a controller on a 12 volt DC circuit scared me till I read your instructions.
Cmon, you nuke...... You got the skills to pay the bills.... :) EM1's never shy away from electrons..... Now us old MM1's...... :)

Pigtail for the dash OEM switch found on Amazon, Amazon.com: ACDelco PT2558 GM Original Equipment Black Multi-Purpose Pigtail: Automotive

ACDelco PT2558 GM Original Equipment Black Multi-Purpose Pigtail $18 w/prime

I bought the switch, the dash panel and the pigtail with the hopes of using it through a Reese POD brake controller Amazon.com: Reese Towpower 74377 Pod Brake control: Automotive by just soldering the connections through each other.

23145874 Switch (it comes with the two knobs/handles)
23299082 Dash switch holder in Black similar to the picture someone already posted.
Well Tinker.... What did you find out? I want to pull the trigger and get the switch, pigtail and holder, but wanted to see your luck and what you were able to figure out as far as wiring on that controller....

I have my Hopkins Insight Flex Mount installed, and it will work fine, but would like the even more clean look of the installed dash switch if possible.

I typically rent a trailer in the summer for a couple of weeks. It will be something in the 4000 - 5000lbs range. If I tow something before then I will post an update.

I did test everything out with a Tekosha trailer brake emulator and everything appears o be hooked up working correctly for me.

I haven't had a chance this weekend, My wife for some reason takes Valentine's Day quite seriously. I was kinda hoping some AE's or EM's or the like could help brainstorm. I will be taking the Reese POD switch apart at some point this week and getting the readings off of its' slider pot and drag/slop adjust whee to compare the two.

I know.... Valentines day....... I like Lewis Black's take on it.

I am trying to decide if I just bite the bullet and buy the unit on Amazon and just trust that I can make it work or if I wait. I have no idea how easy or hard it would be. I look at it and don't see any buttons that would be able to accommodate the "sensitivity" or the manual application. Do you press the button with increasing pressure it will increase the trailer braking?

See picture for explanation.
Whoa.... I am confused. Where did the manual application slider come from? I thought that was just a slot up there, not something that comes with the controller. Or did you do that yourself?

I bought it on EBay. Took a little over 2 weeks to get here. It arrived at customs in LA the day after I ordered it. It sat in customs for a week and a half and then was finally delivered USPS.

Here's a link to it...

Redarc Tow Pro Elite Electric Remote Ebrh ACCV2 Towpro Brake Controller Ebrh C B | eBay

There are a few vendors selling it. I think this is the cheapest one. I think there is a vendor selling the older Tow Pro (not the Elite version).

Be sure and watch the youtube videos to insure it will work for you. I like it and I like the variable brightness led as the braking indicator. Some people prefer a digital read out for trailer braking however.

What do you tow? Any feedback on operation would be appreciated.

I haven't towed anything yet. I rent a travel trailer during the summer most years. Usually it's in the sub 3000lbs range but this year I will be towing something a little bigger...4000-6000lbs range.

It's just a proportional brake controller so I expect it to work as well as any 3 axis controller does. The reviews on it are pretty good and everybody "down under" seems to like it a lot...especially the off road guys.

Did anyone look on there V6 2016 by the spare tire to see if the plug is there for the OEM module? Going to check mine tommarrow.

There has been some in depth research and posts about this topic. Bottom line is the brake controller on the diesel interfaces with the BCM which is completely different on the V6. Unless GM comes out with a different BCM/wire harness/brake power module and ECM programming as a "kit" for the V6 trucks the OEM controller won't be an option.

Thx. for the info. It's funny on rockauto they list that module under my truck. Guess i will get an aftermarket one and just hide it under the dash.

May I recommend the Hopkins InSight controller? It has 3 separate pieces for easy concealment of the main piece (I put mine behind the emergency brake controller using double sided tape. It is so far out of the way it is like it was made to go back there. Then the manual switch and buttons you can locate as you wish as well as the display. I put the display on my steering column and the manual section just to the right of the loyalty card holder. Pictures attached.

I ordered my colorado 3 weeks ago. I was bugging the sales rep about getting the factory brake controller in my V6 gas. He said they couldn't do it now, but it would be available in the future.
...and we all know how well-informed the dealer sales reps are. :wink2:
