New Front and Rear shocks suggestions

Looking into getting the Bilstein 4600's for the front and rear on my Colorado. Currently the Monroe OEM shocks are rusting through and it's hitting hard. So, I heard great things about Bilstein and liked what I saw for their internal components/compression mechanism. But I'm not going to be doing any off-roading, it's just that my state has WAY too many manholes and potholes in the roads. I need something that will almost glide across them without tossing my wife and I in our seats. Any suggestions or are the 4600's solid enough? Not really looking to break the bank and the 5100's seemed too stiff performance-wise for what I was hoping, but I could be mistaken. And are there other things I can do as well to make the ride smoother?

The 4600s are firm but planted. It's hard to explain. Not a jarring ride but has a good feel.

the 5100 will be to stiff for your needs, I would go with the 4600's, maybe add 100 lbs in the back of the bed also...but tie it down so it does not slide
