So installed the conversion kit today with instructions supplied and must say it was very easy!

But one question, I have a feeling something is wrong but i'm not quite sure so just seeing if someone could clarify this.

I realize that with the kit, once i switch on my brights, my low beams and fogs will stay on. Question is though, when i'm running just my low beams, shouldnt i be able to still turn off my fog lights? Right now they stay on 24/7 unless my DRL are on. I flip the switch inside and the light goes out, but the fogs stay on, is this normal?

I did test, and all six lights stay on when flashing brights, but I would think I should be able to turn off fogs, and if i use lows, and flash brights, then only 4 lights would be on, not 6. Right? What did i do wrong?

These the the instructions i used and i guess the only point i got big confused was on the fog lights, it say to connect to the "positive" wire. Well i had a black and purple wire, so figured the purple one was positive. Was i right?

1 ) Remove both parking lights, grill, and driver's side headlight.

2 ) install t-tap connectors, 2 on the low beam (each wire) and one on the pink high beam wire, and one on the fog light positive wire. It is easiest to unplug the fog light harness so you have room.

3 ) Drill an 1/8" hole in the core support ear and install the high beam conversion box and ground wires (short wire with ring terminal) with supplied screw. The best place for this is right behind where the headlight is mounted.

4 ) Plug in the pink wire to the pink wire on the high beam harness.

5 ) Plug the blue wire to the blue wire on the low beam harness.

6 ) Plug the fuse link into the orange wire on the low beam harness.

7 ) Plug the long loomed wire with the blue male to the fog light wire.

8 ) Remove the fuse box cover behind the core support and unbolt the 12v access and install the long loomed wire with the ring terminal.

9 ) Check your work, and reinstall the headlight, grill, and parking lights.

Yes the purple is the positive. Your fog light switch will only work if your headlights are off. There is a switch that you can get to have control of the fogs if it matters. Someone will speak up about it soon.

so my understanding that he says that with lows on, we should have use of the factory on/off, and when highs go on, the switch will no longer work (makes sense) but i'm seeing that there is a problem where the factory fog on/off isn't working no matter what

Same problem i'm having.... has steve commented anymore on this personally?

Did you finish reading that thread?

There is a fix. It's a switch you can get from Steve that you can turn on and off.

Switch Off = Fogs work like factory setting. On with low beams when you depress the factory switch. Off when factory switch is off, or when high beams are activated.

Switch On= Fogs work like they do now for you. On anytime the headlights (low or high) are on.

The kit? Or the switch? Neither was too much of a problem. The only issue I had with the switch was finding a route thru the firewall. I never did find one I was comfortable with, so I drilled my own about an inch inside of the hood release cable. I mounted the switch on the lower left panel of the dash (only place I found with easy access and nothing behind it.

Works like a charm.

Rsquires is right. All you're doing is cutting the white wire that is on the relays in half, and installing a cut-off switch to it. So, you're just opening and closing the circuit with the switch. It may be possible to use the factory switch for that purpose.

Just email Steve at the office. I'm sure he'll take care of you.

If you don't want to wait, get about 8 feet of wiring and a toggle switch(or any other kind you'd prefer). Cut the white wire on the relays in half. Attach each one of the wires to each of the white wires. Then run it thru your firewall and attach each of the wires to each of the wires coming off the switch. Doesn't matter which one.
