I would think it is a good Idea

 

I had one on my gen2 and it always had 'snot' (metal particulates) on the magnetic at oil changes. I missed the boat on having one on-hand for my first gen3 oil change; perhaps by the next one.

 

I have one on my truck, crazy strong little magnet. Does it help anything, prob not. But it's neat to see how much wear metals are there. Ignorant how GM did away with magnetic diff plugs.

 

It seems like most the Manufactures got away from the Magnetic Drain Plug
I can't even recall the last time I changed something that had one
