This fantastic EGR cleaner will be available again soon. It has been sold out everywhere since at least December ‘19. The German company says that they are finished re blending this product to meet environmental regulations. For anyone that doesn’t know, this terrific EGR cleaner - think diesel throttle body cleaner - is great for keeping the oil/exhaust concrete-like gunk from suffocating engine and/or damaging turbo vanes, sensors, DPF. I use (2) cans every 15k or 20k.

Doesn't look like anything special to me, just generic solvents based on the MSDS. Perhaps the "new" version will be different, but the old version is essentially the same as some products marketed as throttle body cleaners. This one is primarily acetone and some other common solvents. I'd actually avoid acetone-heavy cleaners like that with this engine, acetone can damage/weaken certain plastics. The intake manifold is a composite and the MAP sensor is as well, acetone has been known to cause certain composites to become brittle and break over time.

My $0.02, YMMV, etc.

Liqui Moly sells many additives. A few actually work and others make dubious claims but don’t show any measurable improvements.

if you’re concerned about soot clogging the intake you can eliminate it by doing two things.

1. install a provent or other filtered oil vapor recovery device on the CCV line.

2. use a fuel additive that raises the cetane to 50 and has a combustion improver like MMT or FBC (ferrocene). An effective fuel additive can reduce soot significantly by itself. I see 75% reduction in soot measured with oil analysis.

it’s the oil vapor from the CCV the binds with the soot to create that plaque you see. By eliminating the oil vapor and reducing the soot with the CI additive the intake and your sensors will stay clean.

The M+H Provent 200 is working for me along with 10 oz Diesel Kleen/fillup. The soot levels per Blackstone analysis are less than 4% at my last oil change. The drain from the Provent was about 1 oz, which appears to indicate relatively low oil blowby.
I don't have low temp (<25

degrees) driving in my life any more so the ice issue for me is moot.

Update:
My 2 cents.
I have used a total of (6) cans of this cleaner. (3) cans at 46ooo miles (when I first visually inspected charge air intake / EGR). This cleaned it thoroughly. (2) cans at 61576 miles and (1) can at 68ooo miles. No CEL. At no time did I notice drivability issues or measurable gas mileage change (I keep a written log). One owner said solvents were bad for plastic (I might we willing to sacrifice a MAP sensor on the pyre of valvetrain and turbo cleanliness); another owner said he cleans his MAP sensor w solvents. Anyway- I have 79ooo trouble free miles on my 2017 2.8L long bed. I did the regen recall ECM re programming on a stock truck. Catch can and bypass oil filter (amsoil) in the works.
