What ever you do, please take a lot of pics with this project. I am sure a lot of the first gen guys would love to watch your progress.

 

How bad is the cab, many years ago I replaced the roof/A pillars on a D-50, well actually a friend did the majority of the work.

 

It actually doesn’t look too terrible, needs both doors and rocker on one side, possibly b-pillar. The big question would be whether the c pillar is straight enough to fix, looks fairly bent.

My brother is a body guy and we’ve done a few things together on my vehicles.

My other thought though is I could use my VIN if I swap cabs entirely. Seeing as the ‘10. has the better frame and drivetrain. Plus, I wouldn’t necessarily need to use my brother as I’d just be disconnecting/reconnecting parts. But yeah it could be less work to just fix the cab on the truck rather than remove and reinstall everything.

 

Maybe I should swap cabs on my 2019 Colorado and 1989 Ranger!

 

I know this is a joke, but would be awesome. Like that guy who swapped an old Bronco body on a Raptor frame!

 

The VIN plate did play into the desision to do the roof, I had a cab, there's other numbers on the cab too.

 

Is It plug and play to swap a 2wd, 4cyl cab onto a 5 cyl 4x4 frame. Any help would be appreciated if there is huge differences or someone with experience or knowledge
