And yet he’s wrong because GM has sent notices and shows open recalls for pre-2019 trucks. People wonder why we have trust issues with dealers...

Yes, 2016 to current, same with L5P Duramax, 2017 to current.
Those of you in the States that are wondering why Canada only, don't worry about it. Unless you are having excessive ACTIVE Regens, which in itself won't cause any limp modes or speed reduction, then there is nothing to worry over. This recall flash will not fix any problems, it will allow for ECM to detect if regens are more frequent than normal, and be able to set a CEL so you aren't creating too much pollution burning excessive fuel to heat DPF during regens . The issue causing the more frequent regens will still be an issue ( DPF Sensor or excessive egr) , but the ECM will trigger CEL so dealer can then dig into why regens are required more often.
Just because the Diesels are under this voluntary recall , does not mean they have an issue, but if the EPA were to find out that GM trucks could possibly be above emissions at times, the **** would hit the fan. GM must be diligent and do all they can to keep from being under the gun like VW and Ram have been.
Unless my truck starts to regen too often, I won't get the new flash done , I would rather not mess with something that is operating as designed. I do my own service , so the dealer won't have the opportunity to do the recall until I ask for it.

Stupid question, but how are people tracking regens? I am just over 15k KM and I confess, I am not exactly oblivious to what is happeing with the truck but it is nonetheless not obvious to me when it happens

OBD-II scan tools/monitors can read the OBD-II PIDs that show the various regen-related counters, such as avg miles and time between regens.

I have a reader, what is a good app for checking this? TIA
If you have Android then I think most folks are recommending Torque/Torque Pro + BiScan for GM as being quite good. Personally, I've just been getting this info from the BlueDriver OBD-II dongle + iOS app. Last time I checked (almost a year ago) it was showing an average of 744 minutes and 429 miles between regens for my truck.

This a Chevy only recall?

have a 2018 Duramax Denali, regens occurring once per tank maybe every 500-550 miles and just looked no open recalls on my gmc app or via vin# lookup.
GMC as well, I have the notification, but appears to be Canada only.

Hah I'm jealous of everyone's regens here. I typically regen 2-3 times per tank. I've tried multiple gas stations to see if it was their blend, but that's not it.

My drive is just a 35-45 minute commute each way with about 80% highway. I do let it warm up for a minute before I start driving, but I don't idle for long periods of time.

I also got my notice today and it's going straight in the garbage. Why would I want to encourage check engine lights?

Hey guys, thought I'd revive this thread. I am in the United States with a US built truck and got the recall N192273630 on the my chevy app today.

Hm, GM must really be worried about the tree huggers out to get diesels anyway possible. Diesels trucks that follow the emissions rules are more than likely cleaner now then there gas HD counter parts, but what i am talking about. Although I do have problem with it using more fuel on excessive regens.
