Exhaust Cutout

Has anyone installed an exhaust cutout on their truck? I am looking into this and am looking at a 2.5" electric cutout with Y pipe and I am thinking of putting a turndown on the end. I know these are usually mounted right behind the header. Is this possible with our exhaust layout or can it only go after the second cat?

if its before the second cat you will need a o2 sim..otherwise your going to throw a CEL

You have to mount the cutout between the two cats on our trucks. A cutout is to be mounted right after the header for full race sound. If you look at the exhaust tubing there is a straight section, you have to mount it there because the y pipe is straight for 10-12 inches. Also, I wouldn't get a cable one I heard they don't work. If you don't want to spend the money on an electric one just get the y pipe and bolt or weld it up. But I found a site to get a y pipe and electric cutout for $175, shipped.

I have one, but I wanted to play safe and dumped out right behind the second O2...I've also banged out the first cat and replaced the second with a highflow...BIG DIFFERENCE
