Engine temp too low / no coolant

Good info there. I didn't know that the gauge temp was reading the coolant temperature. So that's probably why the temp was fluctuating.

Also, I forgot to mention but the rushing water sound wasn't there anymore during the drive (was always there previously). So I guess the coolant somehow got low enough for it to disappear.
LOL they "fixed" your problem

Yeah that pisses me off. I bought the car used. When doing the test drive, I notice the rushing water sound, told them it would have to be looked at if I buy the car. Then i had it inspected. The independent shop told me there was a coolant leak. Asked the dealer to fix it prior to delivery, which they said they did. Rushing water sound was still there at delivery, notified the manager, told me it was normal and that the shop fixed the problem.

I am back to square one and even further than that...

I am still under the 3 months warranty (it was a certified vehicle). Gonna fight with them if they don't want to fix it under warranty.
I would look into another dealership if you can. Sounds like these guys are a bunch of clown shoes. That being said, I have the rushing water sound in my 2018 ZR2 and have checked and found no leaks. I have also found that some people have had problems with the reservoir breaking and having that repaired under warranty. I am very much considering getting a coolant tank fabbed up made of aluminium with some baffles in it to reduce the sloshing.
