I did my first real fill up today. Since the last fill up I drove 445 miles in 12.1 hours for an average speed of 36.8 mph. I used 17.896 gal of fuel for an mpg of 24.87.

BTW, I paid $1.799 for the diesel fuel.

I picked up the truck end of Feb 2022 and I am averaging 8.4L/100km (28mpg) after 10000km (6213miles).
My driving is 80% highway with about 20% stop and go, only a little bit of towing so far.
Some trips I can get down to 7.8. (30mpg)
Very pleased with the results as my 2021 Silverado was 12.5l/100 (18.8mpg) with the 5.3.
To date I have used 18l of def which I don't even worry about as I buy in bulk at the pump.

Beat the computer's previous Best of 36MPG with a brief 38. 50Mil average 37.9 MPG. A bit insane. Actual tripometer 700mile roundtrip was 32MPG. My setup:

'17 Z71
Stock - front air dam, no tune
OEM Tires (6mons new) @ 40psi
Flat midwest County / State / US highways; no Interstates
Windows up & A/C on (80-90F ambient)
55-60 MPH cruise set -- yea I'm a Grandpa driver! :)

Gotta love the range with the Titan tank. I filled up and reset trip "B" and still shows 800+ of range left. for me the best part is when my 6K lbs trailer is attached and I can still easily go 300+ miles on a tank of fuel.

I know I took the pic on the "25" mile screen but running on some of the local roads at 55 still amazes me.

Nice!

Do you think a bed topper makes any difference on mileage? I noticed one in your profile pic.

There's guys who swear they do but it seems to be another case of "it depends" ...

Hello all, just picked up a 2018 ZR2, just ran through my first tank. Filled it up at 1/4, avg MPG was 22.0 with most highway driving at 70mph. I also added red line 85 plus. I drive pretty conservative, feather the gas and slow acceleration. It's a bit cold here, was around 30 degrees on that last tank. Is my average mpg normal or on the low side? Bone stock, no lifts or mods. Anything I can do to get my mpg up?

My ZR2 diesels(2018 and 2022) always got/get their best mpg driving 45-60mph. Normally around 27-29mpg. Mileage drops off a little at highway speeds(65-75mph). At highway speeds it's more like 25-26mpg.

I did notice a slight drop in overall mpg after adding my light bar with 2 double row 12" RC LED light bars. Makes sense though. That's a decent amount of added wind resistance.

Agreed. 55-60 is the sweet spot. Best I’ve seen is 32 over a 400 mile trip to the beach and back to the valley. Mix of windy and straight roads, mix of flat ground and mild grades….speed rarely exceeded 60. If I do 65 on I5 on relatively flat ground it’ll average 27/28ish. My2016 z71 averaged closer to 31. Aggressive tires and more weight on the ZR2/Bison are impactful.

Full time rooftop on a rack in the back with the Honda 3300 generator stowed in the bed I get between 22-26 mpg , with teardrop in tow between 18 -22 mpg . Lots depends on terrain , wind , stop and go , and of course mph . Lower speeds gets better mpg .

Did this the other day on HWY 97 in Oregon with the cruise control set at 72mph.
My best is actually just shy of 50mph, coming off a mountain from Susanville to Mt. Shasta one winter. I accidently reset the meter.
My most recent tune is by Great White North Diesel and it's a DSP4 switch setup.
