Since both of these models are no longer being offered because beginning with the 2024 model year production, you can get the ZR2 Bison, or the AT4X AEV Package . . . Who has one of these single year production models??

Does anyone know how to find production numbers on these?

Let us know what you got, what you've done to it and what you think of your truck.

Since Feenix was the first Desert Boss on the forum, I will kick things off with her:

594 - WOW! That makes this almost as rare as a 1987 Buick Regal Grand National GNX, of which only 547 were produced (if I recall correctly - when I bought my '87 GN, I really wanted a GNX, but as a college senior, I knew I couldn't afford it! Heck I really couldn't afford the GN!)

I knew Feenix was a Gem - I just didn't realize what a rare Gem she really is! Folks called her a Unicorn when I first posted pics of her - and maybe they were right!:D

Yeah I think production finally caught up. There is a white one on the lot here been there for couple months was not around when I bought my ZR2 in early Jan. They also have 15 trucks 4 ZR2s rest mix. Plus a ton of Canyons including AT4x. The Fairbanks dealer is still trying to rob its customers with 5000 admin up charge. Unbelievable.

2023 Desert Boss arctic white. purchased in January 24’ approximately 600 miles on it. I obviously haven’t used it much but it’s pretty just to look at just like the others here that posted their pics. Mods: Weathertech mud flaps, factory assist steps, Truxedo X15 Pro cover (I really like that Bak revolverX4S after seeing it on the Black Pearl) also the Triple X liners $189 on Amazon for front, back and the bed! (thanks FeeNix after watching yours on YouTube) And driver and passenger swing cases in the bed. I will eventually post better pictures in the near future. I would absolutely buy it again, I knew the Desert Boss is a rare option and I had to have one!

I almost considered a rigid roll up as well, but at double the price, loss of bed space from the rollup box (this is my first shortbed truck) plus my doubts with our winters and ice, decided not to. Still nags me though since I'm not using my truck like I once did.

Have had my Desert Boss since beginning of last December. I live in Colorado and it has seen some truly wild terrain and weather already this winter. More than once I was glad to be in that truck over anything else on the road while driving through a blizzard.

Tinted all around (a lot of these pics are from before I got the tint done, only good one with that is the one in the garage. I’m sure you’ll spot it ;) ) and I custom fit a GatorWorks Tonneau cover on the bed. Tough to put a cover on with the sport bar that comes with the DB package. I also got the winch on mine but haven’t had an opportunity to test it out yet.

Also, that 594 number is WILD if that’s accurate. I knew it was limited, that’s crazy limited though

Never thought I'd like the color, but you proved me wrong. I remember your install for the tonneau.. commitment!

I LOVE the yellow. There were 2 Edition 1s in Indiana when I was looking to buy. My first option was the yellow, but the dealer was being a tool with my trade-in. So, I had to settle for black. The funny thing is, they hit me up a week later and wanted to play nice. Sadly, it was too late and I was nice enough to send them a pic of my new truck, letting them know that they missed out on a sale. :)
Curious, do you use that bed rack yours came with? (forgot the proper name)
My DBoss is my first short bed, still wondering if I can rack mine, I have a bunch of crossbars from previous trucks that I deemed "might come in handy one day pile"
I plan on having a custom rack bar welded to my roll bar assembly down low. Light level.

Like to see what you come up with, I know I can also lower the rack and play with the tailgate at the 45deg angle for longer loads, but ideally I would have it above and keep the tailgate and tonneau closed. More for Ladders etc, just awkward stuff.
