Coolant leak help

My 2023 Colorado ZR2 has sprung a coolant leak from the hose connecting to the radiator in the drivers side front of the engine bay near the air filter.

First dealer I called said 3-7 business days just to diag with no loaner vehicle option. How difficult would this be to fix myself? Anyone have any experience with this? The connection/clamp looks proprietary to me. I wish it was just a regular hose clamp.

Video attached.

Yikes! I've heard those are issues with the midsize and fullsize as well. Best of luck!

Thanks for the help everyone. The inside of my connector/oring is absolutely all crusted up just like in that video. I tried buying a multipack of orings locally but couldn’t make any work. at this point I’ve got everything cleaned up and put back together with the original oring, and so far no leak.

I’ve got a new oring (as suggested in the video that was posted) on the way from Amazon and will try fitting that tomorrow.

The factory o-ring that’s in there is squared and just BARELY reduces the size of the connector so it’s hard to believe it makes a seal in the first place even without it being all crusted up. I’m hoping the round one I receive tomorrow is a tiny bit beefier and makes a more confidence inspiring seal. I’ll update once I get it in there.

Discount Tire has changed, you have to have tires shipped to their store now. They do partner with Tire Rack, I just bought new tires two weeks ago and had them delivered. I have had my rig new since 2019 and this is only the second pair of KO2's. Great tire, quite on the road and get the job done in inclement weather and off-road as well. Great all around tire, I know they are expensive but I got about 40K out of the last pair and could have probably gone another year.

I just had the same problem as in the YouTube video above. My local dealer said 2-3days till they can look at it. If found to need a replacement hose that's out of stock they can give me a loner till the part comes in, unknown how long that will take. The loner would not be another truck unless I pay the difference of $8 a day. This suce because I use my truck weekly to pull my small trailer to do lawn care. I might just have to do the o ring repair. No sense having a warranty if I can't use it.

Around a week in and still no leak after cleaning it up and putting it back together. I’ve got some circular o-rings that are the same diameter as the factory one I’ll try if/when the leak comes back, but so far so good. So glad I didn’t deal with the bullshit of going thru the dealer to fix this.

I noticed this issue on my '24 at 14k miles although the dried deposits on top of my radiator appear to have been there a while. I replaced the factory ring with the 218 o ring and have been good for about 1000 miles. I talked to my coworker who builds old muscle cars and he agreed this is a safe replacement. I forgot what he called the factory o rings but he said they are garbage and don't provide a good enough seal on anything.

It probably doesn't help that the factory o ring is squared and the radiator connector is tapered.

So I did a little research and talked to a chem engineer at work. Most likely the white residue is the coolant reacting with the air. Very small amounts of coolant is leaking around the OEM o-ring/gasket causing the build of residue and making the leak worse over time. GM finally has stock of the replacement hose. My question, did GM fix this problem or are we better off using the 218 o-ring to fix this?

O'ring fix completed. Needed or not, I coated it in silicone grease as the video suggested. I was a dummy and removed the retaining clip. What a PITA to get it back on there. Note: it does not go down inside the slots like I was thinking it did. Other than that it was straight forward and so far no leaks.

there’s a recall on the Hose got it changed at the dealership even tho it took them two weeks to replace plus all the other recalls ( got a new radio unit because it shorted, recalibration of the forward collision system, and reprogramming of the fuel injector flow rate) for the Colorado. Just wanted to see if I was the only one: The dealership still hasn’t been able to fix the glitch for my Driver side Door latch system. Error keeps popping up at every first start up of the day. This is the second dealer I take it too and they can’t fix it…….Lemon?
