Climate Control Problem

Has anyone noticed a problem with their climate control?

I can't get my Canyon to do anything but blow very hot air. No matter if it is on defrost, A/C, vent, etc. It blows hot air. Even when I engage the A/C button, it still blows hot air.

Any ideas?

The dealership has not opened yet, They don't open for another hour or so. As soon as they open, I will call the Service Dept.

What if you change the temp. knob to the blue side for cold air?

A/C will still blow hot if that is set to the red area for hot.

My Canyon is now at the GMC dealership in San Leandro, CA.

I explained the situation to the Service Mgr, he says "It should not do that."

Kdeatrick, I tried everything. Turning it all the way to the "blue", turning it all the way to full "red" thinking maybe the switch got inverted, turning on the A/C. Everything I tried, same result... hot air.

I hope it's nothing more than a loose wire, Inkspot. I hope to hear from the dealership soon.

Thanks,

Jim

That it is, but we had a very cold night 49 degrees. I had to get my coat out it was cold. I have no idea how most of you all stand it. Brr.
HAHAHA.....we haven't hit 49 in at least three weeks...heck, its 35 right now and that is by far the warmest its been over the last two weeks. Good thing the truck heats up pretty quick :D

Well I'll get mine when you all are enjoying a nice 80 degree summer day. 80 will be our overnight low. You get up in the morning and the humidity is 95% and you know it's going to be HOT all day long. But still I feel for you guys and the cold, i'll take the heat over cold any time. At least you're out of single digits 8) Naskie18 I have to admit your truck does look cool in all that snow.

I got my Canyon back from the dealer yesterday. The problem was with the mesh gears for the temp door, behind the radio. The mesh gears came loose from the bracket and became disengaged. They had to realign the gears, place them back in sychro, tighter down the bracket.

Dealer says this had to come this way from the manufacturer. They have notified GMC of the issue.

I had mine in the 2nd day after we had it... I got in the truck to drive it home from the dealer and it started gettin chilly so i turned on the heat and nothin... so i get home and park it and was messing with turnin the ignition on and off and it (heat, Blower fan) came on the 1st time i restarted the truck. So later that night we went back to the dealer and asked about it, one of the sales people said it might be because the truck might not let it come on till it gets warm.. I think to myself (BS) but him being a Chevy carsales person should know about his product. So we go for dinner that evening. The Next day I tried it again and with the truck up to temp turned it on and nothing.. Well took it back to the dealer and the problem was loose switch from the factory... atleast they detailed my truck and gave me a tank of gas for the 2nd time :)) :D
