Apple has released IOS 26, a major overhaul which also has a lot of CarPlay fixes & new features.
I had a lot of errands yesterday and had 14 instances where I shut the truck off and restarted on those stops.
CarPlay did not lose the steering wheel controls in ANY of those starts. Usually, maybe ~20% of the time, CarPlay would loose the ability to change selection on the steering control.
Too soon to claim victory on this but it is encouraging.
