I save them over the life of the truck and uae them to get $1K off my next new gm truck. You can confirm on their app or site because different gm vehicles have different limits, both mid sized gm trucks limit was $1K off last time i checked. Others or more
Part of that is for a period of time there was a couple of different types of GM Cards
Some let you use all your Points/Dollars towards a New Vehicle.. Limit on Used at Dealership
Others have a Limit as to how much Points/Dollars you can use depending which Model

There has been many changes since 1993 when the GM Card came out
I have gotten to see them all
Been a GM Card Holder almost the whole time
Except when my Ex-Wife messed it up

They let you use $3,900 worth of points on a new Colorado or Canyon? I ask because their is usually a $1,000 cap on using points to take off msrp on new Colorados and Canyons. It says so on their site
Redeem up to $750 per calendar year† – or up to $1,000 if you’re a My Chevrolet Rewards Cardmember† – toward the purchase of a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
