I just replace my Wifes Blower motor Resister. Let me just say it is very easy to do. Anyone that can read this can do it.

Under the dash on the passenger side you will see the back of the blower motor. Just to the left of it is the blower motor Resister. You will see the back of the resister. It has a flat plug on it. There are two 5.5mm bolts that hold it in. Pull the 2 bolts and it will come right out. Unplug the old resister. Plug the new one in and slide it back into place. Put the 2 5.5mm Bolts back in. Done!!!

Test to make sure everything is working.

Hope this helps some of you out.

Thx for this information! Mine went out last night and I didn't know what the heck was going on....Glad it's just a simple resistor. The new part cost about $17 from the dealer. Couldn't get it from local parts store unless they special ordered it.

This seems to be a problem for all. That's why i have a spare one in my garage. + A spare speaker.
For those of you who have had a coly/canyon for a while would know why speakers are included in my spare parts.
Also many times beside the resistor, the casing with pins for the resistor burns out too. So i have the whole cable ready in my garage for the next time.
If there is a next time, because i put a sign on the truck that says " For sale".

When this resistor blows, do speeds 1, 2, 3 work again or are they gone until you replace the resistor?

My blower has been cutting out on speeds 1, 2, or 3 at random and then starts again on it's own. But everytime it does it, if I put it to 4 it starts right up again.

What is the part number for the new resistor?

Thanks,

Steve
