Wondering what you guys think looks the best?
Stock 2026 ZR2 comes with chrome lug nuts (thought it was kind of weird when there is almost no chrome on the truck).......
I screwed up when ordering locking lug nuts, I got black.

So purchased black lug nuts to match.
I have a preference, but could go either way......

Also painting the calipers and installing mud flaps while I'm in there. 😆

Well, you know they saying: Once you go chrome, you gotta leave it at home...or something like that...🤣 I like the black, but I'm sure they'll get nicked up, so, the chrome will show less of that. I tell ya, when I was in CO and saw a truck with OEM black ZR2 wheels, I WANTED them! They were bada$$. I wonder if I can find a dealer that will take mine in trade + some $$ and put some black wheels on. Or, maybe, I'll buy a second set, and put the Falkens on the black wheels and some new dedicated winter tires on the grey ones....

I think maybe the downside of the black ones might be...after you got used to it, if one loosened up and fell off, you might not notice. I bought blue anodized valve stem caps (sorta match my truck) not for style, but to easily locate them when it came time to air down or air up on the trail.

For the lugnuts, I could go either way! It is really a subtle change. You should go with the ones YOU like best!

Nice job on the caliper paint! Did you paint them in place? Or did you remove them to paint them? What paint system did you use? I've considered doing this since my Z71 is black with some red accents. I think the calipers would be a nice touch!

Thanks!
I painted the calipers in place.......with a stiff acid brush it's pretty easy to do and no masking is required IMHO. Masking just creates a bigger mess......
I used to build model kits as a kid so it maybe helps, but at 64 I have bigger toys. :ROFLMAO:
I used the G2 caliper paint.....it's a 2-part epoxy paint made specifically for caliper heat and also provides a tough thick coating. Used it before on my Silverado and it's durable and good looking.
2-Coats required, 30-min between coats............and you have about 2-hours before the paint sets up hard.

I pulled the tires from one side at a time as I don't have the capability of having the whole truck in the air.......
So, I had to purchase 2-kits one for each side.....otherwise there is just not enough time before the paint sets.

I got the Gatorback mud flaps........super spendy but are heavy duty and very durable.
I've had them before and they give a more rugged nice looking flap and provide excellent protection.
Good protection for the wider profile tires on the ZR2

Didn't care for the other offerings for my ZR2......

Either = 4
Chrome = 4
Black = 6
🧐🧐

Thanks for all the replies.......I've decided to go with black for now and see how I like them over time.
If they do get marked up easily I can always go back to chrome.

The black ones I got are solid lug nuts and not capped like the stock ones are.
I also have 1-black locking (keyed) lug nut on each wheel just in case!

Thanks.....

I put black ones on my 2017 ZR2, same color wheels just different design, at first I was up in the air, later I liked them better than the chrome.

now ya have me thinking as I have the ZR2 wheels on my AT4..hmmmmmm

I also have the Chevy center caps on my Canyon ;)
