Just wondering if there’s a common opinion for folding bed covers on our trucks? My bil has a bak flip mx4on his f-350 and likes it very well, but I’m always open to hearing other opinions. Thanks

I'm finally getting around to buying a bedcover now that I won't have a large dog crate in the back as often. The Bakflip MX4 seems to be the best selling cover out there and has tons of great feedback. There is a new version with some additional improvements too. I'm tempted to go that route. The UnderCover Armor flex posted before me looks to be a very similar design too, at nearly the same price point.

The improved design features reinforced stability, all-new tight-fit clamps for superior weather resistance, and an upgraded auto-latch locking system for unbeatable protection. I chose after many years of dealing with covers for my Pick Ups ( Snaps versus velcro etc.) a roll up with velcro because its simple easy to use and does the job. If you store valuables then maybe a heavy cover with a locking mechanism . I have seen the hard covers for aerodynamic etc. painted to match the truck ( Lots of money ) but my roll up does fine .. Cap World is where I bought mine but there are plenty of places around today form low cost to a LOT of money !

I had ExTang Trifecta soft-folding covers on several trucks and always liked them. Now with my gen3 I have a RC low profile hard-folding cover Hard Low Profile Bed Cover | 5' Bed | Chevy/GMC Canyon/Colorado (15-25) which is very similar to the Bakflip. I really like the matte finish and the added security especially since the tailgate locks.
Interesting. That one is a couple hundred less than the other two mentioned. Does that section nearest the cab fold up too? If so, does it have a prop rod to keep it secure while driving? I couldn't tell from their website.

I have a Retrax Pro MX on my truck. Not the cheapest, but the best cover I could find.

If you can afford a hard roll-up that is the best way to go. I've had soft roll up, soft tri-fold, hard tri-fold, and now a hard roll up and this one is where it's at. Nice flush fit, good security and protection, but can be rolled 98% out of the way in seconds to give you full bed access without blocking view out the rear glass.
