You need to pop the back panel off. They are held on by a bracket that is screwed into the cab wall.

 

I'll probably just cut then on each side and stuff what's left into the hole.

 

Hoooogan is correct the just bolts (2 each side ) to the body behind the seat back rest. If you can call them a rest, LOL.
The backs just side up to remove.
I make use of mine it holds my cb antenna and hats with a carabiner. I also replaced the back cushion with the OEM filler part from the Work Truck model. I don't now if they are still available. The part # is somewhere around here.

Wouldn't the bolts have to be down below the head rest somewhere behind the top part of the back seat?

 

The bolts are behind the back rest, not the head rests. to remove the mounting plate remove the head rest, remove the back rest pad, remove from the plate the 2 head rest guide bushings by squeezing the tab that hang through the mount plate , remove the THREE bolts.
Maybe you need to look at a parts diagram to see how it all fits.

No, won't be needing to do that.

Like anyone with experience working on vehicles I can study what I've not done before and get er done just fine. If others can do, I can too...No problemo.

If all else fails, I'll get out the trusty cuttin torch by gAwD and take care of bidness!
