Not have you forced to deal with this BS when you don’t want it
What about other Mandates and Laws?
Everyone says that about things they don't like

Why should there be Crumble Zones, Air Bags, Seat Belts
There is people that don't like them and would say they should not be forced to pay for/use something they don't want

What is the safety provided by Auto Stop versus air bags, seat belts, crumble zones etc.?

I am just pointing it
We all have to learn that the World does not revolve around us
Those were just a few Mandates/Laws that I listed

But, there are people out there who hate that those features were put into vehicles and don't like that they have to pay for them
Those people are using your argument towards Start/Stop

I have not said what I agree with or disagree...

It’s just another example of the majority being affected, in many cases adversely, by something that only benefits a distinct minority. No, the world doesn’t revolve around us - but it sure does seem to revolve around the squeakiest wheels (and fattest wallets).

I installed the AutoStop module in my 2026 ZR2 this morning and it works as advertised........
I will monitor it for a few weeks as I put on some miles and make sure it continues to work and shut off the ASS system when the vehicle is started.
Simple installation, tricky part is getting the tool on the connector in a confined space........otherwise pretty simple.

I'm happy, but too bad we need to spend $$ to disable something forced upon us.

ASS Connector.

I spent an hour yesterday trying to get mine installed, to no avail. I was able to pull the red clip, but I could NOT get the tool into the plug, no matter how hard I tried. I'm thinking my arms are too big. I still have marks on my arm from trying it yesterday.

Not even a close example......Seriously!
Think about it.....

Well worth the $100 to get ride of crap.

I did mine in about 15-minutes.......
Definitely a bit tight in there. I did use a Hemostat (great tool for any toolbox) to hold the tool while I placed it in the loop on the top of the connector.
Disconnected the hemostat then with my hand pulling down and out, the connector easily came out.

My problem is I can’t see anything once I stick my arm in there. I even tried leaving my phone in there recording video, and it just doesn’t work. I will try some hemostats. I’ve got 5-6 different sizes and configurations. Thanks for the suggestion.

It appears the World may revolve around us as those squeaky wheels and big wallets got the attention of the EPA. There are no outright laws banning or requiring "auto stop" (or auto start/stop) technology in cars; however, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to eliminate federal incentives and credits for this feature, which could lead automakers to stop including it in future vehicles. The move, announced by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin in May 2025, is a response to consumer complaints and a broader deregulation effort, as the feature is often unpopular and does not provide significant fuel savings or emissions reductions to justify the costs and potential wear on vehicle components.

Well Auto Start/Stop itself is not mandated
But, it is there due to Mandates involving Fuel Economy and Fuel Emissions and Manufactures looking for solutions to meet those requirements

And there is never a perfect solution
At least Auto Start/Stop has greatly improved in the 30 Years it has been around to not be such a headache

I already knew no matter I what was said..... You weren't going to be receptive

Not sure what the real big issue is with Auto Start/Stop is
Maybe the A/C will be off at the Stop Light... No can't engage when A/C is on

But, I am glad that you are happy that you installed you Auto Start/Stop Eliminator

Wish you were close, I'd help you out.......
Sounds easy I know, but all your trying to do with the tool is get the tool tab hooked into the top loop of the connector.
Then I carefully removed the hemostat and reach back in blind, pulling slightly down and away from the switch.......the cable popped right out.
Very little pull force should be needed once the connector tab is released.

Good luck.....

If it were actually effective and important, they would have made a law requiring all new vehicles to have it and definitely a law making it illegal to disable it.

All these types of gizmos are supposed to make vehicles more efficient out of environmental concerns with the hope they'll burn less fuel but the fuel savings are negligible and these features just make vehicles less reliable.

It's why I driver older stuff like my 2016 Colorado with no AFM and not shutters in front of the radiator and definitely none of that auto stop garbage

The trick for me was when I realized the red clip wasn't all the way out. I had released it with my fingernail, and try as I did the clip wouldn't go in. When I fiddled with the red clip more (after accidentally pushing it back in) and pulled it back out, then pulled it on it some more and it came out another few mm after another click which is what let the grey clip into the space.

Was only a 5 minute install on my 2025 ZR2. Must be different on the 26 🤷🏻‍♂️

.....or you have woman sized hands.

Seriously if you have larger sized hands it can be a tough thing to get in there to release both the tab and getting the tool into position.
