I'm currently driving a 2015 Tacoma, but I'm considering a new Canyon. I've read for numerous hours on these forums and elsewhere about these trucks, including some of the problems. I saw that GMC sales for the Canyon dropped 48.91% to only 659 units in Canada during Q4. I know people come to the forums with problems, and many people who don't have problems never say anything. It does appear that there are a lot of issues with the new Canyons.
One issue that seems common for everyone:
- Roof is flimsy and will dent going through a touchless car wash. Apparently this doesn't effect vehicles with sunroofs, but I don't really want a sunroof. I'm also not going to be manually washing the vehicle, so it is important. Apparently GMC has acknowledged this issue, but no fix has been released yet? Are the new 2024s still coming with this problem?
Other issues that seems common, but I'm not sure what percentage of trucks it effects:
- Wind noise in cabin (Cowling fitment issues and windshields needing to be removed and resealed)
Issues that have been resolved?
- Batteries going dead due to some sort of constant pinging (related to over the air updates?)
Any other ones I should know about? Are you happy with your truck?
