My Android Auto only works about 70% of the time. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are connected. I have a 2024 Trail Boss. When it doesn't work, it doesn't work no matter what I do.

You can reboot the infotainment screen by holding down the hang-up call button on the steering wheel for like 15 seconds or something like that. Everything else will stay running, but the infotainment screen will go black and then reboot in a few seconds.
I've only had my phone disconnect maybe 3 or 4 times in the 1.5 yrs I've owned the truck. Rebooting the infotainment screen has always solved it.

On your phone, you should only need Bluetooth OR Wi-Fi connected. You shouldn't need both for Android Auto. Also, make sure your phone has all its updates installed.

When I did have AA enabled on my phone, the truck would turn on the wifi on my phone to connect (its normally off) Or it might have been my phone turning it on automatically when it saw my truck via bluetooth. I don't know which controlled what. I don't use AA still, so I disabled the app on my phone to stop it from connecting.

With my Android Auto, Ive noticed if I start the vehicle without the phone inside the vehicle, it wont connect after I move it inside the vehicle and when I walk away with the phone, it disconnects. I always have to turn the engine off, open the door to shut off the screen then restart. Is this what you are experiencing?

I've had similar issues with other phones and an S21.

You can try this:

Delete bluetooth connecting for the phone on the truck.

Delete phone bluetooth connection for the truck.
Delete phone wifi connection for the truck.

Clear the cache on android auto (settings/apps/ android auto)

Then reboot your phone.

Connect your phone to the truck via wired connection and do the setup. Then it should connect wirelessly afterwards.
