The E and T letters are touching because that's how the letters are stamped into the tail gate. Same for the E and V letters.

I wasn't really talking about why the letters you installed had to be touching (because, as you say, the tailgate is stamped that way).

I was pondering GMs thought process in deciding to have only those two sets of letters touching!

Any body have any experience in why GM has only those two sets of letters touching?
