I realize this issue has been discussed several times and the prevailing opinion is that the GM 75W90 gear oil is preferred (despite the cost). However, my 2021 owner's manual (V-6 Z71 4WD) says to contact my dealer for specific oil recommendation. I did just that, and my dealer parts rep took my VIN then recommended GM 75W90 Limited Slip fluid.
That contradicts what I have read here. While I trust what the manual says, injecting a parts guy into the mix makes me question how reliable that info is. How often is that guy at the parts counter wrong? Why not just write it into the manual?
Does anyone know of a specific GM bulletin or other link that can confirm this? I know there are opinions out there on Amsoil, Delvac, Shell Spirax, Royal Purple etc. but I really just want to be sure what GM recommends.
