Hi guys, new member here

Ive got a 08 Colorado W/T i bought brand new in 08, got around 122k on it, and its my daily driver, while its not my favorite vehicle i own, it has treated me well, even though at times i have not treated it well...

My question is how many miles do you usually get from these things before your looking at serious repairs? I do use it hard sometimes (hey, its a truck) but i do maintain the mechanicals well, its got a 5sp and is 2wd...

Im just looking for known serious issues and what kind of repair bills ill be looking st if i keep the thing for another 100 k +.

Thanks

At 100k you should at least have done: spark plugs, trans fluid, diff fluid, clean the throttle body, fuel injection service, and general safety inspection by a good auto tech.

By 150k you will likely have a clutch job, and probably all of he above services again with a good inspection.

I would say to just press on with doing what you are now. Barring some unforeseen problem, you could expect to see above 250, 000. The term "serious problem" means different things to different people. I consider it to mean internal engine failure. Use it like a truck, because as you said, that is what it is.

Hi 2008 Colorado LT with 271459 still running. Wondering if anyone having the same luck. Had a catalytic converter issue that cost me 2 cats. Found out it was the EVAP system contaminating the catalytic converter. No EVAP related code. Had to take it in for a smoke test. Gas tank seal rotted. The mechanic said should be good for 5 years more. Change oil and buy gas till then. I can only hope. Burns about 1 and 1/2 quarts between oil changes. Daily driver 60 miles a day for work.
