I have been reading about all the updates GM has been doing to our trucks remotely. It seems that they are random, and don’t seem to be the same for everyone. Just curious what everyone has for an update history, and whether some trucks have more issues that require more updates? Or does all our trucks information get uploaded to GM automatically, and then they send updates to specific vehicles?

I have a 23 Canyon Denali, March/23 build. I have had no issues other than drivers side Blind Spot Monitoring warning goes off randomly sometimes. It has not really bothered me, and I haven’t brought it in to get looked at…
if You have the “my GMC” app, go to home page, then go to “vehicle status”, scroll down to “vehicle updates”, then “install history”

As you can see, I have had 3 updates…April,Aug, and Sept.

Edit: Maybe indicate whether Canyon or Colorado, that might make a difference.

That page is either listing only the android OS updates, or it’s just not accurate. I’ve had one update installed by the dealership as a result of a failed Sept update that was to add the towing lines and fix the shortcut disappearing issue. Yet the app shows no updates for me.

Thats strange. Ive lloked at this recently and it showed my updates. Now there is nothing there. Wonder if it resets annually? BTW. Happy New year! Believe you are correct about different updates. I never had the drained battery issue so I didnt get the recent update that was to correct that from happening again. I do know I had a total of two last year since July when I picked up the truck.

My infoScr shows several bits of info, but the Chevy app shows just one item. And the first sentence explicitly states that they will use the same number more than once. Why they do that, who knows. Maybe to keep customers in the dark about when/where/what/frequency of updates they receive.

Trail Boss, Advanced Trailering, TB1, HO, Saftery packages. Zero updates whatsoever and no major issues. Had the CarPlay not connect once early on, system reset and hasn’t happened since, I get the load pop after initial start up, but I seem to avoid that using the trick someone else posted. Don’t buckle the seat belt until after full start up. Strange, but seems to work.

Exact same situation as you, minus the high output tune. Absolutely zero updates.

I too have a TB that has received zero updates, and still stuck on Android 11. I am taking my truck to the dealership to have it investigated on 1/12. I will keep you all posted if they find a resolution.

ZR2 came with Android 12 installed. Picked up in September and have had Zero updates, Zero electronic issues since day one.

July build ZR2 and have had zero OTA updates for the truck OR the infotainment. Only glitches Ive had are my DIC sometimes changes gauge faces back to gauge 1, and my favorite radio channels sometimes dont change with the buttons on the back of the wheel, or the touchscreen, and my inverter doesnt appear to be working.

I go in for my first oil change tomorrow so hopefully they fix my inverter while Im there.

If this is the wrong place for this I apologize but I'm curious to all that have gone from Android 11 to 12 did you lose a lot of the 'Controls' section?? I used to have a section for controlling the HUD and the Headlights ect and when I click it all I see is Window Lockout and if I expand I get a few other items but for instance I can't do ANYTHING to my HUD.....It's super bright and not level, I have a silly rag blocking it now cause it's so annoying and I can't control it.

Does GM provide how Many OTA's for a specific Vehicle Like a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado? Is there a Place You Can Find what OTA's have Been Done other than using a Smart Phone? As I do not own a "Smart Phone" as others have mention in this Thread. When they Do any OTA does it have the Infotainment Screen Require you Select English Each Time After an OTA has been Done? I trying to Sort Out an Issue that startedin March 2024 - Dead Battery after 3 or 4 Days of Sitting - Never had that and owned the Colorado Since Nov 2023. Why would they do something that Now Causes a Truck to No Longer be RELIABLE"? For over the first Year I might not Drive my Colorado for 7 to 10 days and Never Worried about having a issue with the Battery. Back in March I took it in for the Dead Battery Issue and The Dealer could Not Find Anything Wrong they did a Battery Load Test among other tests and then They Fully Charged the Battery. This last week Went out after maybe 3 or 4 days to go someplace and this Time DEad Battery could not even unlock the Days as I could back in March. SO Can't Take The Chance going anywhere and have no means to Jump Start the Truck. Why Does Chevrolet Do OTA's If They Can Cause Problems??? Why Not Alert The Owner so they are aware that something Can Cause a Tech Glitch as it Appears to have happen with my Colorado. Is it because it Costs GM $ if the Dealer has to Perform the Update. When Now It is Costng me Time and More Trouble Dealig with an OTA Software Update.! Poor Thinking on GM / Chevrolet Causng Such Concerns especially with a Newer TRUCK!Also Is there a Fix for when a Dead Battery happens with a Short Period of Time. Is there any Standard that GM has as to a Vehicle Sitting for long periods and Not Have the Battery Get Drained like 20 or 30 days?

Sooo ... I checked myChevrolet on my phone and it says there is an important software update. N24-172AC.Think I'm gonna forego that for a while. Anyways, my infotainment no longer shuts off when the driver's door is opened. I see that others also have this problem. Plus, the USBs (A and C) don't seem to like 3.0 1/2/3 only 2.0. Any thoughts? Oh, and the A doesn't like my iPod.

My radio hasn't been shutting off for a few weeks now. I charged the battery a few weeks ago but couldn't get the update to start. The Update and History was greyed out. Yesterday I put the battery charger back on at 2 amp. It said my battery was 58% charged. I let it go overnight. Tonight the Update and History wasn't greyed out. When I opened it I had this. I hit install and it started the install, eventually failing. I restarted the truck, put it in Drive, put it back in Park and shut it off. No prompt to update, but I went back in and hit install and it installed in maybe 10 minutes.
