Finally broke 1000 miles in the Colorado. For reference, I don’t do much towing, 2-3 times a year max, towing a bass boat or helping a buddy move. I use it, primarily, for commutes to work (14 miles) and weekend miscellaneous hauling in the bed. The overall experience with the truck has been 10/10.

Things I’ve enjoyed about the truck are the overall looks, interior and interior features, and ride quality. For starters this truck just looks sharp. The clean body lines and front end just look handsome. The proportions are there. Comparatively, the new Tacoma would be most similar looking to the Colorado, but the new 2024 Ranger just looks dated to me already. The LED accented tail lights look really sharp. Unfortunately they aren’t LED all the way through. I can get by with that. Lastly, I highly recommend getting some type of paint protection film on it. I just got a partial front put in and it has already helped me. Saw I had a really small rock hit, and I took a blow dryer to it and it was fixed in no problem. Absolutely worth protecting that big front end. If you’re in nashville give Nashville ClearBra a call and ask for Jurgen. 10/10 exterior looks and features.

Interior wise, it fits like a glove. I am 6,2. Standing on level ground, I can see straight over the truck. I was worried about downsizing from a 2008 crew cab f150, but I have 0 regrets. I can sit very comfortably in the drivers seat. We’ve been able to fit 5( including my self) to tailgate a titans game. Heated seats and steering wheel are something I haven’t had before, but I could never go back. They add so much comfort to the vehicle. I haven’t had the ventilated seats on yet, but I assume I’ll feel the same. The technology in the infotainment center and driver information screen is remarkable. Very smooth and reactive responses. The steering wheel also just fits so nicely in your hands. I got the red seatbelts. The fiancé wasn’t fond of them, but I think they add a much more luxurious and sporty feel. I haven’t had any electrical issues, as noted in other posts. Lastly on the interior, it’s very very quiet. Highway speeds and gravel roads, it is quiet as a mouse. It sounds well put together, if that makes sense. I was able to get the ppf guy to install some Xpel in the console to protect the black piano material. I think it’s well worth the investment as that material scratches really easily. Overall 10/10 interior.

as for the ride quality. This is the only aspect I feel that doesn’t deserve a full 10/10. Anything from my previous truck was an upgrade. Don’t get me wrong, it still rides like a dream, however there are some quirks. First quirk is descending down a hill at neighborhood speeds generates high rpm’s. I’ve since learned this this is an active fuel management. Or so my dealer says. It feels weird. It’s not the end of the world but just doesn’t feel like it should be happening. The other issue is related to the auto start stop. When engaged, the truck will lurch and search for gears it feels like at low speeds. It’s kind of obnoxious, but it can be fixed with a simple button. Other than that, the ride quality is impeccable. Riding on gravel roads is a breeze along with tackling pot holes and rough asphalt. Bumps and other obstacles are no problem. It has awesome pick up.

If you considering getting one, I can only sing praises for this little truck. It does everything I need it to. Enjoy some pictures of it from my 1000 miles of it.

Nice detailed review. Thanks for taking the time for those of us considering one.
No problem! It’s been awesome owning this truck. Never been brand loyal, but this one might make me come back in a decade or so.

For what it's worth, the 2nd gen transmissions have a similar downhill effect. I don't love it either as freely coasting should be part of an MPG improvement approach.
When you let off the gas (while in gear), and even when the rpms go up, the engine is not using any fuel. If you can, keep an eye on your instant MPG display when this happens. Once your truck is fully warmed up, if you let off the gas and coast, the MPG reading should go up as high as it can go.

Would you mind sharing a photo or outlining where it isn't LED? I thought they were fully LED, that's a bummer

I thought the same but it looks good to me still. I think accent LED and halogens look clean.

Yep, I get that, but it hinders the momentum you'd otherwise have if the transmission was better at freely coasting.

Using a rolling hill example you could carry your momentum up the next slight incline if rolling freely, but with the trans slowing you down, you have to use the throttle to get up that next hill.

My 22 Z71 has the same exact feel on downhill . I too have found the seats steering wheel heaters something that I love also . Older bones really appreciate these simple features . I too am impressed with the comfort level / noise quality etc. driving !
