I had one on my HHR SS that was electric. It would slide out and flip up when you drove and fold under when stopped. Or you had a remote to control it too.

We are now a one plate state so no more of this foolishness. We also got rid of E Check too. This Governor gets my vote next election.

First off the factory doesn't put it on they send it with the truck for dealership to put on. Which amounts to the dealership drilling holes in your lower front fascia and mounting it with rivets. This eliminates having to drill out the rivets if you want to remove it and be left with the holes. You do like me even though I live in a no front license plate state. I always tell them when I order a new vehicle if they drill and mount that bracket then its there vehicle I'm not buying it. Have never had a problem. I also tell them I'm not advertising for them so dealership sticker on the back. But thats no big deal. A little WD40 and edge of old credit card will take that right off.

The feds threatened our governer with holding money and penalizing electric company and other companies here in Missouri if we stopped emissions testing in the st Louis Metro area, of 4 counties .

we have plates front and back, unless your vehicle is over 12,000 GVWR, then you do not need one one the back. So I called in a drunk, driving a 3/4ton truck and the 911 person asked for the tag number. I told her to start the recorder, the tag on the back is of a naked girl, due to your dumb Missouri laws that large 1/2's and above do not need a tag on the back" She then asked if I could get the front tag. I told her, "everybody is moving out of the way of this guy and no way was i going to pass him when he was weaving across 4 lanes"

one lady I know who drives a Vette said if you have a performance car you do noot have to put your front tag on....I asked a cop at the gym an he said you do...

When I worked for Audi, some car models came with a front plate others did not, being in California we had to add them, so they sent us with the car a front bracket and we had to install them during the PDI. Some models like the etron and the A4s and up were super easy.. the A3, Q3 or any model with a 3 was down right impossible to install the front bracket.. we were given 2 very tiny metal clips that had to attach the bumper to the bracket, but you had to do this blind with very small picks.... it generally took waaaay longer to install them.. i think Audi paid like .1 time units to install them..... the seasoned techs (the 2 or three ASE cert guys, and several master tech level guys) took about 30-40 minutes on them... Took me way longer..damn near an hour at the worst one (i was new so bite me) sadly you will find alot of whatever A/S/RS/Q3 on the road with a barely attached front plate lol

Sad thing is even if a state that requires a front tag it should not be installed till after sold because the buyer may be going to a state or be from one that does not require it.

I agree with you... But I think most of the cars I did a PDI one was already sold. I think Cali also requires you to register it here in cali, atleast untill you can get it outa state... I dont run a plate on my front right now, but Ive yet to be pulled over for it yet...
