Today. . . I decided to keep it. . . February will be my third year anniversary owning my 2020 ZR2 Bison (Tatanka) that my wife bought me for my birthday in 2020. She asked if I wanted to trade for a new 2023 ZR2 for my birthday this year but after looking at the Chevy site and reflecting on all the work I've done to Tatanka I decided to keep it . . . It's been a great truck and I honestly can't think of anything the 23 offers that I absolutely would need or want.

Now. . . what projects and upgrades can I do with the money she's saving???

Hoka Hey!!!!

I decided to keep mine as well and bought a new Corvette to keep it company in the garage!

I second the notion for a supercharger. Or gears of you have not already.

Got my 2 moving blankets delivered today. One is already in the truck bed and the other on a shelf in the garage. Also cleaned water spots from the outside mirrors and windows.
Moving blankets are not ideal for cleaning water spots. 😂

Took my Colorado out to cut some firewood and burn a brush pile I’ve been stacking up for a while.

Kinda thought the Cedar tree in the background made for a nice picture.

Do you have a solid axle up front? Any more pics? I'd like to make my ZR2 a solid axle up front. It'll never happen, just a dream.

He's already done gears. Seriously, a supercharger is the only thing he has not done to his truck. It's an amazing rig (I've ridden in it and checked it out)

Very nice! Did you do it yourself? What does something like that cost, if you have a shop do it? Just curious.
I did it all myself. It was a lot of work since it was my first time building a custom suspension. That’s why I decided to use leaf springs. They are simpler in some respects when compared to coils.

Pricing is a tough thing to pinpoint. I tried to build mine with the best parts I could afford but I easily could have spent a lot more money. I dug through junkyards and built all the brackets myself so I saved money that way. It’s very possible to buy everything from a fabrication company but it’s hard to get exactly what works since every build is slightly different.

My best advice is to have a very clear build plan but be prepared to make changes as problems arise during the process.

I’d expect a shop to charge around $10k+ to do what I did (and mine is rather simple). It was a lot of labor. Not to mention the hours I spent just laying under my truck trying to measure and get a mental picture of how everything would interact with everything else.

Packaging everything was a real chore. It’s not easy to get everything to fit in a space it wasn’t designed for.

At the end of the day the education I received during the process was priceless. My truck isn’t the best, but it pushed me to a higher level and that is the best part.

Well said. That phrase is priceless. I've been doing woodworking for years, but I learn something new with each project. And, and this is a big one, I'm not afraid to ask questions to those with more knowledge than me. My hat's off to you, sir, for tackling this yourself!

Isn't that the biggest V8 they made? And there is talk of it being introduced into an SS Silverado?
It's the biggest and baddest of GM crate motors.

Why are they called crate motors? They are not motors, they are engines. Systematics.
