Unless your apartment rules forbid you from working on your vehicle, there's no reason why you can't do it yourself. I do my maintenance in my driveway which would be no different than doing it in a parking lot. You could also check to see if there are any places in your area that rent bays to DIY'ers. Outside of that, I would look for a good reputable mechanic rather than the dealer as it will usually save you money. Stay away from quick change oil places! While some are "OK", some are not and it's not worth your vehicle's health to take a chance of a place who tells you they changed the oil but didn't, or used the wrong oil and didn't change the filter. Yeah, crap like that happens.
When I got the truck, I also got a maintenance package and I work for the dealership. Kind of a win win. I can check on it when it goes in, I get a discount, etc. I definitely stay away from quick lube places.

The advantage to that for you is also
No extra time out of your life
You are at work
Your truck getting serviced at work

Took it down to the river this morning to run the dog. -15 C but he didn't mind. Never seen so many eagles at once. Pretty sure they are eating all the dead geese on the river.

Had to tear apart my front bumper to get access to my winch. The motor got corroded and quit working 😡.

I got it disassemble and decided to rebuild it. Unfortunately Warn no longer sells just the brushes so I had to source some from another winch company.

Time will tell if it works. In the meantime I installed the spare motor I had laying around. I sealed it up as much as I could to help prevent another corrosion issue. The bad thing is that I sealed everything up good last time and it apparently didn’t work.

I’m disappointed in the quality of Warn. When I went to assemble everything one of the bolts that threads into the “tie rods” stripped. I was pretty aggravated. I had some spare tube left over from my steering shaft build so it got cut to length. I tack welded a nut on either end and used it as a new “tie rod” until Warn can replace the stripped one.

My truck is getting more and more red-neck every day it seems. View attachment 439340 View attachment 439341 View attachment 439342 View attachment 439343
I just had a warn 25 just peel itself off the mount while plowing with my 20 king quad....literally off the bolts. Warn assesed it all and is just sending a whole new winch. I still love WARN and blown away by their awesome customer support

Treating your belt with Aero 303 really increases the belt life. I spray and wipe mine every oil change, looks like new.
I've used 303 for a bunch of things, but never thought to put it on a belt. I assume you only put it on the outside of the belt?

The belt I ordered came in. Started squeaking a few months ago on cold starts but went away... it stopped going away and annoys me so I am replacing it. No cracking or crazing on the OE belt I can see, depth gauge seems right... thinking I may have gotten something on it. In the past I've used an Oring conditioner to quiet belts and it worked well but I'm not trying to be cheap... it was 12$ at Napa. One of the shortest serpentine belts I've seen. I'll get it done after work tomorrow.

Threw my tool chests in the bed last night... don't mind the empty boxes. They reside in here until I need the full bed space, but they're damn easy to pull out should I need it. The bar keeps them from sliding around, and I blocked them off the bed with 4x4s to keep them snugly located. One has hand tools and electrical parts (solder iron, crimps, tape, full tool box etc.) And the other power tools. (Sawzall, batteries and chargers, flashlights, impacts.) I've done repairs on other vehicles as tests and I should be able to fix pretty much anything with what is in those two boxes... and if I can't it wouldn't be a roadside repair anyway. Between the in truck inverter and now I have a plug in 350 watt inverter to charge the batteries in the back, I think I'm good to go.

I spray both sides, then wipe dry after a few minutes. YT video a guy soaks his in a pan for 30 min, 200K on belt and like new.

I'll wipe mine down today. I need to clean my truck after my AZ pig hunt, but I haven't recovered enough from my surgery.

Got the Coplus headlights all installed and adjusted. Wiring was pretty straight forward although I did have to trim a bit from the rear of the grill. These light housings have a small tab that hit until clearanced. Not a big deal. They look amazing and a huge improvement over the LED bulbs I'd put in the stock housings. Videod while out for the last bit of archery deer season. Sadly no harvest but it's always good to get out and put a few more pin stripes on. I put the boron engine and rear diff skid plates to the test. They both took a pretty good hit but just scraped the paint off- I'll have to touch them up after a full truck detail. This is the unlock/lock sequence (doesn't seem to like the MP4 format so linked to google photos).

Holy **** that looks badass!
Thanks! The relentless front bumper I ordered has kind of the same angle as the 3 lights. 5 month wait... tapping fingers
