So I recently put larger tires on my 2017 Colorado and I bought an inline speedometer re-calibrator from Rough Country. Everything went smoothly as far as programming the unit and installing it. After I was done and got the panel put back on and went to start the truck, it said "theft detection" in the message center. It wouldn't let me start the truck or even take the key out of the ignition! So I had to take everything back apart and remove the RC unit. After that it was fine, but my speedometer is still off.
Anyone have any experience with this? I followed the directions to the letter but Rough Country's instructions are known to be...incomplete. Did I miss a step? Any advice would be welcome. Also, yes I tried googling it, it didn't produce anything useful. Thanks.

I received and installed my unit yesterday, and so far no issues. The truck started right up afterwards and the speedometer is now pretty close to, if not exactly, what my phone gps tells me.

Have you tried reprogramming it?
