They also gave my Mom some of the spent cartridges from my Dad's funeral. Unfortunately I've been to more military funerals than I care to mention. At my uncle's funeral, my Mom's brother, I saw the first time my Dad get more emotional than I ever had. They had just played taps and was doing the 21 gun salute. He later told me when he came back from Vietnam, he had to be in the Honor Guard and that had brought back so many memories.

If you're on the east coast I would highly recommend visiting the North Carolina in Wilmington. I was in complete awe from a distance. My parents took me on vacation with them one summer in the mid 90's and took me there. We also made a trip down the Patriots Point and visited the Yorktown, Laffey, and I think the submarine Clamagore. The NS Savannah was also there at that time.
