Suspension reviews and ideas

So hello everyone I own a 2015 Z71 93k miles blk/blk I am looking to lift my truck. I would love all the feed back I can get! I am thinking of many options.

Option 1: Pay out the nose for a top name company and in theory only getting minimal additional suspension replacement parts. (exp. Icon, BDS, Fabtech, etc.)

Option 2: Buy a cheaper kit but come with all the bushing control arms and such and then upgrading the shocks from the cheapos to a quality set. So with this for an example start with a Rough Country kit, buy any correction of geometry kits(due to I've heard people having issues with sway bars twisting and the likes.) and purchasing decent upgraded shocks(Blistein, Fox, etc.) to round out the more complete rebuild.

So let me hear you ideas on my idea and let me know any issues you all have encountered with any company I have mentioned. Thanks in advance!!

Here's a better idea:
  • Set a budget
  • Figure out how high you want to go on the lift
  • Set expectations for how you want the lift to perform and what you want to accomplish.
  • Figure out what you NEED to replace.
  • Figure out what you WANT to replace.
  • Get back to us.
Without figuring out those things, people will throw out suggestions that don't follow your plan. You're looking at drop bracket lifts and the cheapest RC lift. Make up your mind or you're gonna end up wasting money.

So I took your list and added text to the questions you outlined. Would love anymore feed back you have.

  • Set a budget - $3,000 there is play in this number.
  • Figure out how high you want to go on the lift – 3”-4” max
  • Set expectations for how you want the lift to perform and what you want to accomplish. – Mostly highway driving, minor trail driving
  • Figure out what you NEED to replace. – Need well there is the thing truck has 90k miles on it. So any normal maintenance replacement parts for a 90k servicing on the suspension,
  • Figure out what you WANT to replace. – Whatever could be replaced with all the suspension components out and being worked on. (trying to adhere to the budget.)
