I am sure most here know how to do this but if not it is easy.I removed the spring loaded string and the right side pin at the bottom of glovebox.Then you can wiggle the glovebox loose. Remove the access cover and replace.

I have to do this soon, the previous owner was a smoker it seems. Autozone shows an STP part CAF1904P for a replacement. I'd imagine that this part is the same across all trim levels.
I can't speak to whether the Autozone part is correct, but yes, the filter would be the same across all trims. I seriously doubt it would change between year models unless GM did some significant dash design changes.

The worst part was getting the pins out. I removed both pins rather easily by using a pair of these. Wrap the jaws lightly around the base of the head of the pin and pry..... First one was so easy, I just decided to pull 'em both out.

Checked my filter. Not bad for 1 year old. I might wait until the end of the summer to buy a washable something.

Any info on how to unhook the spring loaded string on the glovebox? It looks like you just slide it towards the rear of the truck but mine won't move by hand. Do you use some force with a tool or pry outward to unlock a tab? I don't want to break it.

Glove Box Remval Pics

This is a simple removal with pics:
Photo 1 is the right plastic pin under the box and photo 2 is the left pin. I was able to push these out with my fingers. Squeeze the 2 outer walls inward and the box will drop.
Photo 3 is the retractable string cable that you can push out from the inside and then down from the outside, or use a flathead screwdriver from the outside and push down. The 4th pic os the housing for the string.
Photo 5 is the view of the cabin filter door.
Photo 6 is the filter door and the 2 plastic pins from pic 1 and 2
Pic 7 is the Mann filter with airflow arrow facing DOWN.
I replaced the box and shut it so the latch is engaged. Then i replaced the 2 plastic pins.

My truck is only 3 months old and does not need a replacement.

i replaced mine today after about 20 months, 18k miles. I removed the pins underneath the glove compartment but I did not have to touch the string or clip on the right-hand side to get the glove compartment out of the way of the filter cover. The filter was covered in black soot.

I had earlier posted that I had trouble removing the clip that attaches the string to the side of the glove box. As Scott Wells pointed out, you have to slide the button on the inside of the glovebox where the string is first. Then the outside slides easily.

The clip on mine broke as soon as I slid the button. Oh well, it's now even easier to change the filter. I could care less about a soft dropping glove box.

Thanks for the photos. Now on the hinge pin removal, I found them on my truck and you say that you pushed them out with your fingers; did you grab the head of each
pin and pull them? I know you said you pushed them but they are pretty snug and tight in their hinge mounts. As you push the small end of the pin, it would seem that
the pin would not clear the hinge completely unless you had enough of the pin exposed to then just grab the head of the pin and just pull it. I saw on some other blog where
a dude used a screwdriver and pried on the heads of the pins but warned to be careful and don't break them. That sounded scary. I think that replacing the drivers side hinge
pin would be to put the larger end of the pin facing the passenger side to aid in future access/removal

Put the jaws just behind the 'head' of the pin and and lightly grab the shaft of the pin. Pry them out....
Easy and quick.
