The parts I have and am hoping will work are:
13440111 Onstar call switch (I found the least expensive new in box was actually combined assembly 13422817) so search both part numbers
84719683 Antenna/Camera Assembly (sharkfin)
13536995 Mirror Assembly
Fakra Z M to F cable
Better option for camera might be the Camaro and Corvette camera which I believe is
F Camera 84895800 | TascaParts.com
The shark fin/antenna/camera is fairly large
Just an update. Everything working great, just waiting for a longer video cable. best location was rear portion of cap just above the 3rd brake light. A few notes:
-The mirror connector on my Canyon has the same pin designations as required for the video mirror (just plug it in). Pins 1,2,5,8,9 leave as is. To hook up the remote Onstar switch pull connector pins 3,4,6,7 with wires and transfer to the new 6 pin connector that will mate with remote Onstar switch (you will also need to add a ground to that new connector). If you use the same Onstar switch I used, then the corresponding pin numbers are mirror connector pin 4 goes to Pin
1 location of
6 pin,
2 has no connection, 3 goes to
3, 6 goes to
4, 7 goes to
5, and lastly
6 requires a new ground wire.
-I had to trim the back of the shell on the Onstar switch to fit in the location shown as shown in the photos. For the switch bezel, I cut a section out of the original bezel that contained both the Onstar switch and the airbag indicator and then reshaped it.
-I did not end up using the antenna functions of the "shark fin", so removed those and the associated cables from the housing. I explored just mounting the camera inside the cap with a "porthole", but in the end preferred using the shark fin.
The view is similar to the video mirror on the Yukon or Tahoe/Suburban, whereas the Silverado mirror camera is on the cab so further forward.
Obviously there are lower cost ways to do something similar, and for many the oem conventional mirror is good enough. To me it was worth it though so 'nough said in that regard.
I'll add a photo later of the mirror image on the street, but there are plenty of examples of that on the GM website and youtube.
