once they reflashed the transmission shifting issue....no other issues ...2016 canyon 57000 milesI'm trying to get a gauge on the reliability so far for the Colorado/Canyon twins. I'm heavily considering purchasing a 2015 GMC Canyon (3.6L LFX, 6-speed, CCLW, 4x4), and I'm looking for reviews on the long-term reliability so far, as much as you can figure out reliability for a vehicle that is, at best, 4 years old.
Searching on the forums is kind of a biased sample (Since very few people post to just say 'My truck is working fine!'), and while I've noticed a few recurring issues, most either don't apply (8-speed problems) or are easy to accomodate for (Carbon buildups in the DI engines). That being said, what other problems are you guys having, and are they widespread? Or have most of you just had trucks that work as expected?
just an update i had not driven the truck more then 3 times since the ecm died so on saturday the 6th of june i decided i would take it to the hardware store made it less then 2 kilometers and it died again got it to start drove it home in limp mode that was fun. decided it was time for it to go checked around i think i might go with a new ranger i have had good luck with them. so i go out sunday and try the truck oh and guess what it will not start at all just winds over what a massive piece of crap these things are so now it is back to the dealer to get it fixed so i can get rid of it at what another 1000 dollars like last time and apparently it wasn`t even fixed i do believe it is the wiring that is causing the problem if that is the case god help me i just hope they can get it to run long enough to get rid of it once again just a typical crap gm puts out now2016 canyon had 2 issues one was the ac pressure switch and caused the truck not to start had to get it towed second was the ecm died less then a year apart of coarse it is out of warranty at 125000 km i have driven alot of old junk that i have never had to get towed once let alone twice in a year as far as i`m concerned these are just another piece of gm junk i should know better but stuck with it now. Good thing i have a backup car to drive when the truck dies a 1999 cavalier with 352000 km on it ya know back when gm has a little quality
It took me awhile, but I did finally confirm that the alignment was off, and it was off quite a bit. Everything was off but the right front caster, and the toes were way off. I hope this was done wrong at the factory, like the torqueing of the lug nuts, because I don't want to have to align the vehicle every 10,000 miles! Now just three (the second is new since I last reported): 1. Lug nuts not properly torqued; 2. Front wheels probably out of alignment (based on wear on outside)--just discovered and not yet verified; and 3. A recall for diesel regen issue (which I still haven't done--mine is not regenerating too frequently). Just under 13k miles.
