Saw this photo on the Camaro forums. The poster found it on Instagram, apparently taken at the Wentzville plant a few days ago. It's the exact truck I'm looking to order/buy. :grin2:

Just curious, and I shouldn't be asking this question. How much taller is a ZR2 than a Z71? This might be a costly question at a dealership.:grin2:

Nothing new, just figured I would share some screen shots I took from a YouTube video by Autoline Network I came across who interviewed the Chief Engineer, Chevrolet ZR2, Anita Burke. Not really any new information and is the first 30 mins of the video. Not the best prepared interview, as it appears she was thinking how to word the answers, and was careful how she worded some, which is typical of the industry, but an interesting watch. I took a few screen shots of the nice, assuming, Summit White color in full production trim.

The video if interested:

ZR2 Factory Rock Sliders

I, for one, would like to see some good photos of the factory rock sliders........especially to what point they extend relative to each wheel-well, and more importantly, "how" they attach to the truck (what are the anchor points?).

Still waiting to see who will be the first to post their pictures of their new ZR2 in this thread. With trucks hitting the dealerships now, it shouldn't be too long.

I sure hope they're attached to the truck alot better than the ZR2 that I saw at the Edmonton Motor Show the other weekend. Those one's were attached via brackets to the body, not even to the frame. I tried stepping on the rock sliders to get into the ZR2 at the show and it was bending / flexing like crazy! Sure hope that's not how they're coming from the factory! Otherwise I'd be really disappointed lol because the rock sliders on the ZR2 at the Edmonton Motor Show were strictly for show purposes only!
A brand new TFLtruck video addressed the rock sliders. They're body mounted.

Having said that, the engineer TFLtruck is talking with said that he told the ZR2 team that body-mounted rock sliders are "stupid," and so he personally took it out and banged it around some rocks and he was pretty happy with them. See the video above @ 6:28.

Everyone thinks sliders need to be rock solid, but you need flex. Something that flexes is more forgiving, and as long as it doesn't flex to the point of damaging the rocker, then it did what it was supposed to do. The engineer said the slider can support the weight of the truck without damaging the rocker. That's all I need to know.

Yup, saw that too.

Next step is crawl on (and under) a ZR2 in person to see if it's feasible (and worth) using the factory rock sliders on my Z71, or going aftermarket...
