Has anyone had to pay for this update?

I called the my local dealer and they told me that they could do it, but it would cost $143.

I have a 2016 Colorado and I saw an article on GM's website that said the update should be done, free of charge.

Just wondering if this was a time-limited offer? I didn't see an end date specified.

Are you still under warranty? If you’re still under factory warranty - I would think any updates to the programming / AA / Carplay, etc would be free. I have a 16 and I’ve had one update that was free.

Perhaps your dealership is confusing NAVIGATION updates? For updated Navigation & Maps - regardless of warranty - you have to pay for.

If you’re out of warranty..... I can see them expecting payment (but I don’t know for sure).
