Wow ! Just got a quote from closest linex dealer. $550 under the rail and $650 for over the rail. Now I've seen what some of you guys have been paying and was pretty shocked when they gave me these prices. The guy there said they just got back from linex convention in vegas and said they
can't see how anyone could charge less. I got to see a dodge ram they just did 8' bed over the rails. Really nice . $900 bucks ! Maybe its just
Long Island where it seems everything costs more.

Grinch,

May I suggest a trip out of the city!

I'm betting if you look around you will find it much cheaper. Make a little trip out of it. In Pa I think the going price is around $425. Many of the dealers will give you a day loaner to drive locally while you wait.

OK. I called another dealer thats a little further away and they told me
$459 under or over the rails. That other place is crazy. Now if I could only
decide which to do, over or under. Not sure which would go better with the access cover I plan to get.

Here's a quick pros and cons, Grinch.

Pro: If you do it over the rails, you'll have the rail protection already in place, and I guarantee you it'll look great w/the Access Cover

Con: If you do it over the rail, you possibly take away other potential aftermarket dress up/protection options for your bed rails.

I eventually definitely want to protect my rails, but I didn't do it with Line-X, because I wanna do something flashier, like chrome bed rails, or at the time I was considering the GM rail covers.

But then again, maybe those chrome rails are compatible with the over the rail Line-X, I probably would've done it.

Anyway, just an FYI, at least with the place where I had mine done, over the front of the bed, and over the tailgate is included with the "under the rails" package. The only thing that isn't sprayed on mine is over the sides of the rails.

Ok, so that wasn't quick...:?

Thanks guys for the feedback.

S2k, where did you get your access cover ? Did you also get the tailgate
sealer?

I paid around 400 over the rail, although it was Rhino, not line-x. Not sure if there's much of a price difference or which way the price difference between the two would go.

I got my Access Cover on eBay, Grinch. HERE is a thread that talks all the way through my buying process. I bought it from "fordseniormastertech" on there, and got it for $330 shipped, and it came in 2 days. He's actually running an auction for one right now, if you're sold on it.

I didn't get the tailgate sealer. I'd eventually like to, but more water gets in the gaps at the front corners of the bed than through the tailgate. So when I ever do decide to completely waterproof it, I'll plug those first.

HERE'S another thread where I talked about the Access Cover on eBay.

Line-X is harder and rougher.
Rhino is smoother and stickier/rubberier.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages as opposed to the other.

I think, anyway.

Ok you Line-X guys and gals, Which of you selected the Standard option Vs. Who bought the Platinum option. Apparently the platinum is 300 times tougher than standard but I was told less than 1% of their customers select platinum. Please tell what you got and if the Platinum is over kill or not?

You know this thread is 4 - 5 years old. Prices have changed. Plus there are other options. Checkout Bullet liner. See link below. It’s what I did and very happy with my choice.

Gusto!
