Is it possible or advisable to mount the on/off switch for a light bar, permanently under the hood, rather than trying to get the wiring thru the firewall? If I’m off road, I lift the hood, turn on the lights and when I’m done, lift the hood and turn them off. Trying to get a wire thru the firewall looks like a royal PITA.

tht would be big pain, to do that every time you need the lights, especially if muddy or raingin

Google well show you several remote control setups, just need a FOB and control lights from any point 30-40 feet away. I've been using a AnzoUSA 4 channel for 5 years, been trouble free.

I was walkig thru aMenards and they had a remote fob with wirinng for aux lights in the auto section..

Several on here run similar, like Tom

Thx on the remote. I found that Rough Country offers a remote for the lights they sell. So, I’ll buy my lights from them an d use their remote. Should totally eliminate going through the firewall.
