Is it true that the rear defrost option is needed to install non-factory heated side mirrors to the Colorado?

Any more info/tips on installing the heated mirrors? Thank you

It’s literally just a long resistive wire. Hooked to a relay. With a fuse.

So no?

Not entirely sure what this means buddy
Isn't rear defrost standard ?? (can't remember a single vehicle that did not have one, and I'm OLD) All the heated mirror options are usually connected to rear defrost switch.

Yes you can install it but the heater will not work unless you run your own wiring. The wiring, relays, etc... They are just not there on the WT.

I dont believe its standard on WT.
I am actually hesitant to use mine. My avalanche lasted about 15 years before the mirror turned yellow from the heater. I rarely used mine because I had seen so many doing the same thing. I don’t know if it’s still an issue but I never use the rear or mirror defrost. I’m just a scraper for life lol
