This is more of a write-up/review of the sequential turn signal kit than it is a how-to. The dual DRL mod was done by rangerbob and can be found here: http://coloradofans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38264

To complete the sequential turn signal mod, you will need to do the dual DRL mod first.

Items needed:
2 3157 3-wire bulb sockets PN 85881 found at AutoZone for $7.99 each
1 STS-2S Sequential Turn Signal kit found at http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm for $49.00

Below is an image of the 85881 3157 bulb socket

Below is an image of the STS-2S Sequential Turn Signal module

Connections are as shown below

Here are connections made with the light harness removed from the truck

Note: The original inner bulb socket was left connected so it can be returned to stock if necessary should the new socket not work. Also, connections used, wire nuts and quick taps, are temporary to ensure the kit would work with our lighting system. I will cut off the stock socket and solder/heat shrink the connections after a week of testing.

Here's an image of the light sockets and harness installed

Looks great 8) Be sure to keep us all posted as to how well it works out for you. Is this causing any issues say with the interior signal indicator lights staying on or are they working normal? A friend of mine did some bulb customing in an ol s-truck shaved the front bumper marker/signals & replaced with 194 bulbs using 80's style camaro side markers apparently not enough power used therefore caused his dash signal indicators to be on constant. :?:

Yea i get looks from facing traffic all the time. Especially other colys, the drivers are probably wondering "Dang does mine do that too?" Some dude in a S10 saw me and asked me if i took the sequential module from a Cougar and did that...

So far only issue i have isn't really an issue with the sequential system, its moreso the same problem i've had since i first installed the dual turn signals. Just as i've mentioned before, after a while of driving with the DRLs (now 4 bulbs) i notice in the reflection of cars in front of me that my DRLs start flickering every couple seconds. Not blinking but flickering. My theory is that the added current draw to the BCM (approx 2 amps each bulb according to James) so it might be causing the BCM to act up. So what i was going to do was install a relay that is switched on/off each time the turn signal blinks which will switch the turn signal lamps on/off on a seperate hard wired circuit and eliminate the direct connection between the turn signals and BCM. The only drawback i can see of this happening is that every time the turn signal blinks you will hear a small click from the relay. This can get annoying i suppose so i think ill mount it as far away from the cab as possible. However i do have some mini-relays from work that are quieter than the conventional Bosch style so im thinking theyll work out good.

Ill let you guys know my results so that we can be comfortable releasing info and diagrams so we can be sure this won't cause any damage to your BCMs.

They're the same 3157 bulbs. 3157 and 3757 are the same exact bulb with the only difference being the little tabs. The 3157 has tabs in the center and the other has tabs offset. You can put 3757 bulbs into 3157 sockets and vise versa only thing you gotta do is shave off the tabs so they fit in the socket. But they both should draw about 2 amps each.

Just wanted to clearify that the stock inner marker lights are 3156 (single filament for parking lights) and the DRL or turn signals are 3157 (dual filament for turn signals and parking lights) so with this mod, you first need to convert the inner bulb pigtails to 3157 so that you can run dual filament bulbs in all 4.
