Do the H3 and the Colorado share the same front or rear diffs? The reason I ask is ARB makes air lockers for the H3, and I was wondering if they would fit?

The 4X4 is a different system in the H3

The 4x4 in the H3 can be left engage at all times.

Uh - I don't think so. They are both part-time 4wd. Not AWD.

Not sure about the gears, but the axle is wider than the Colorado's.

The rear is a different axle altogether with a larger ring gear. I don't really know about the front but I'm sure it's probably larger as well.

The only reason the H3 switch out of AWD is to save gas.

It's a much nicer system then we have in our trucks. Not that it matters to me anymore I went back to a 2wd CC Colorado.

I thought they had the AAM 850 and the full size trucks had the standard GM 8.5" 10 bolt? They're not the same are they?

They use the same differentials and gears. They're actually 8.6" now. I think they're both made by AAM.

what do you mean? they are never in 2wd
The H3 is full time 4wd, there is no 2wd mode.

There is only 4wd, 4wd high-lock and 4wd low-lock.

Huh, good to know. Is this just the NNBS full sizes or has this been like this for a while?
