i jus installed a flowmaster 40 dumped and i get i little bit of popping on deceleration or downshift. i dnt mid it though. i have heard a lot about gutting the cat. i looked for a thread about it but i am yet to find one. i just want to know if the benefits outweigh the consequences. can it still be smogged in CA? will the popping get louder? what are the performance gains? and how tha hell do i do it? lol

I passed MD emissions - which are the same as CA emissions with a gutted header cat.

I'd like to do this mod on my 07, but it sounds like a hassle on the different design of the 3.7. I'm a little worried to with the borla it might be a little too loud for me.
