I figure I would share with you all the sounds of the GM Performance Exhaust.

Startup:

Take Off:

To me, the exhaust note sounds better than I expected. I did find that it sounds a little bit deeper when driving inside the truck.
I haven't really driven more than 15 minutes in it yet, so I can't comment on cabin drone or anything. I'll let you know more when I drive it a bit more.

Ladies and gentlemen: This is what true commitment looks like!

Congratulations on realizing this project, Jeremy. Please also indicate whether this is the 2.5 or 3.6 engine for less informed auditors.

The startup video gives the engine on a faster idle. It would be more interesting and comparable to hear it after the engine has run for about an hour, with the entire exhaust system hot, and then record the sound at slow idle with the engine in gear.

As it pertains to both videos, please note that the snow is evidence that the ambient air is clearly below freezing. Every exhaust system has a bit of a flange kind of sound in sub freezing temperatures. It tends to make the exhaust sound more nasal and less baritone.

Once again, well done young man.

Sounds nice. Do you know who manufactures it for GM? You will probably find it has some "drone", or cabin sound with the windows up, but no "drone" with them down or rear window open where you just hear the sound of the exhaust.

Sorry, maybe it's just the recorded phone video quality that can't properly render sound but it sounds like a Civic or wannabe Subaru in my opinion.
That is the nature of the V6 we were given, high strung and buzzy. I am hesitant to do an exhaust for this reason. The K&N-style intakes actually make the truck throatier under load.

I am surprised that Borla pulled or did not use a resonator in there setup.

But all you would really need to do is add a small resonator before or after the muffler and it would help out.

But I think it sounds great and always hard to judge what it really sounds like over a phone or computer speakers.

But let us know what the in can is like for any drone over the stock set up.

Can you do a video of the start up and drive while in the truck?
Dude, that came out so wrong!

No doubt you want him to record a clip from within the cab. But sounds funnier the way you wrote it.

If I break it down the way I first red it -you want a startup video. Already done. And I'd like to see him drive while NOT in the truck. hehe

Sure thing. I can do that. It will take a couple days.
I will also try and find a sound meter and see if I can take some measurements.
So far, there is minimal increase in cabin noise when cruising on the highway.
In city driving though, depending on throttle usage, it can be loud....:smile2:

This is my next upgrade!

I got some credit from GM toward accessories and I was on the fence about what to use it on then this vid made the decision easy.
