Hey guys.

I'm going to buy a "perma-cool" flex fan for my 2.9L. I'm pretty sure I need a spacer though. Do you guys know what size spacer I need?? I know (or think) or fan is 17" counter-rotation.

any help would be appreciated.

Flex fans are a waste of time and money. Get an electric fan or leave the stock one on there.

why are they a waste of time? have you had experience with them?

They don't draw any more air and they don't really weigh any less.

They don't really free up any power, and if you ever tow anything on the highway you're taking away a lot of cooling capacity at upper RPM's. A clutch fan is better than a flex fan, so removing the stock clutch fan to install a flex fan is a waste of time and not worth the money/effort.

electric fan > clutch fan > flex fan > fixed non-flex fan

That's the order I'd rank the different types of cooling fans.

Cost of an e-fan will vary depending on the model of fan you use. If you look around here I believe there are a few how-to's.
