Want to talk about shell shock? For the last 10 years, we've had a big pickup truck for hauling big fifth wheels (first one was 15k, second was 21k). We sold the trailer and are now getting into a motorhome. I wanted something flat-towable and the Canyon 4x4 fit the bill. Found a gorgeously ugly bright orange 2019 with only 13,000 miles on it.

So, welcome from a new member in Orlando, FL.

Product Rectangle Font Software Screenshot

or adding "site:coloradofans.com" (no space between colon and c) to a google search is very useful:

Not a Canyon, but good looking! That orange has been growing on me. Kind of a nice fit for the Sunshine State.😎

Not quite the extreme that you experienced but I went from a Dodge 2500 4X4 crew cab to a Canyon. It is delightfully easy and pleasant to drive on little back roads and tight streets by comparison. Congratulations on a great looking truck. I don’t find the orange ugly at all.

I love that Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. A buddy of mine has one with a custom tune and his gas mileage is amazing!
fyi, when you go to tow the Canyon, turn the 4wd knob all the way to the right, clockwise, there is a hard to see N thereso the transfer case will b in neutral

I like the orange,,,

Welcome Aboard. Congrats on your purchase
Welcome. Last year I moved from my Ram 2500 Quad cab with a Cummins of 16 years into my little Canyon. After 8 months, I miss it less. I miss the power, seeing in front of me further, and the mileage. I don't miss the ride, the noise and I espicially DO NOT MISS HOW LONG IT TOOK TO GET HEAT OUT OF IT IN THE WINTER! My butt and back were warm, but the rest of me felt like I was riding outside.

The Colorado/canyon diesel has an auxiliary cabin heater for this exact reason :) comes on at max heat when the engine isnt warm. It's basically a small space heater in the cabin. I'd wager one of the least known features of the trucks.

Definately one of the least known features... until now.

Not to take away from the OP's introduction, but I had considered the diesel. I just couldn't justify the extra cost. And, since reading a few posts about big engine issues, I don't miss the maintenance of one. I have 2900 miles on it now... so fuel cost isn't my concern. Well, not yet at least...

I had a Banks cold air intake, MBRP 4” turbo back exhaust, Smarty Jr. “software catcher” that added 100 hp. Very powerful truck. I’m thinking I should have kept it.

I had no idea! So it’s electric? Very interesting. The engine does seem to come up to temperature pretty quickly though.

Yes, the aux cooler is electric but once the engine warms up it turns off and the heater runs traditionally through the coolant core like any other vehicle.
Great find on a 3-year-old truck. Good color too.
Welcome fellow RV'er.

Aside from having a cool truck, i think you 're going to enjoy being in a motorhome versus a 5'er!
Towing the Colorado behind a motor home is the best towing combination setup with this truck- nice color. It’s gotta be like a go cart coming from that prior truck!!

LOL, no idea why I called it a Canyon. You’re right, it’s clearly a Colorado!

Thank you! I was just asking another Colorado owner about that today.

We are excited! We were in a 5th wheel for 10 years now and even fulltimed for 5 of them as a family of 4. We’re launching one kid out of the house and our needs have changed. So now a motorhome fits. It should get delivered in a couple of weeks, I hope. I’ve got a tow bar ordered, just picked up a portable brake unit, ordered the emergency brake away switch, and will be ordering the baseplate + wiring harness soon. The big question now is if I’ll hire out the installation or do it myself.
