Supernatural does have something of a point about the size, though it's not really news. A few months ago I looked out my office window to see a Gen2 Colorado, a 2015-ish Silverado 1500 and a 1990s Silverado parked side-by side. The Colorado was overall roughly equal in size to the '90s full-size, and the newer Silverado was considerably bigger.

There's a guy who works in my building with a 2021 Ford F350 crew cab 8' bed dually. Whenever he parks next to my '18 Colorado my truck looks like a toy!

Size is relative. Personally, I'm good with the size. Not so small and crowded as the old S10s, but not so large as the fill-size trucks to be a challenge to drive on a daily basis. And forget the HD trucks!

Yes, it's likely been set up as a media event, probably days if not weeks in advance. That news video aired last night on local TV during the 9pm newscast, so apparently production started Monday instead of today (it actually takes a day or more for a given vehicle to go down the line start to finish). And if you look real close, at one point you can see the cab of a white truck between a couple of vans in the background to the right. That implies more are on the line.

It's common for automakers to run a handful of a new model off the line, then halt for a couple hours to do a media event. It helps boost recognition in the plant's region, in this case Wentzville MO and surrounding communities, as well as validate the efforts of workers who helped get the new vehicles out. I think it's great. Now if only GM would update that 30 year old van.....

Went past Wenztville Assembly a little while ago. Here's pix of part of the first batch! I counted 39 total in this group. They seem to be mostly Colorados. Word from an employee on the line is about 100 trucks came off the line this week. I expected a slow start to let workers get used to the differences from the Gen2s. I imagine these first trucks will ship in the next 2-3 weeks, barring any problems found on the line.

Sorry, the holding lots are pretty much off limits except to employees, and group was close to one if the main gates.

No red, yellow or bronze that I could see. It's possible some have been built, just not stored there. I wouldn't read too much into those not being out yet. It's common for early ramp up on new models to temporarily run limited colors.

As for window stickers, early trucks could ship with a temporary "not for sale" sticker if the final EPA results aren't ready. I've seen early new model Silverados and Corvettes on the showroom with such stickers, even if customer ordered. The official sticker is forwarded to the dealer once released. At that point the vehicle can be sold.

Actually there is one Z71 with the 20" wheels, just very hard to see it. In the 3rd pic the trucks are in 2 rows, to the right is a group of black ones. Look under the near row and you can see a couple 20" wheela are visible, on a black Z71 in the second row. It's the only one I saw. I couldn't tell for certain if any Z71s had the flares, but I got the impression none did on the first row. Couldn't really see much of the second row.
