Anyone heard these ?

This is one if the options I am thinking about for under the seat of a crew cab gmc canyon.
Their specs on sealed box is .4 cu ft and sun takes up .03, so need. 43 per.
Checking some measurements, I can get a internal of 1.81, 4 is 1.72, added bracing, should be good.
Vegas are 300 watts rms apiece

I have a skar skv2-1500.1
4 ohm - 550 x 1
2 ohm - 930 x 1
1 ohm - 1,500 x 1

The vegas come in a dvc 2 ohm and 4 ohm.
Their spec sheet says they are 1.7 ohm and 3 ohm

If I decided on the vegas I would get 4 and use either 3 or 4 of the 10's

With doing series / parallel wiring
If figuring the 1.7 and 3 ohm

Subs - Sub Ohms - Wiring ohm - Watts/amp watts
3 - 3 - 2 - 900 / 930
4 - 3 - 1.5 - 1200 / 1215
3 - 1.7 - 1.13. - 900 / 1428
4 - 1.7 - 0.85. - 1200 /

With doing series / parallel wiring combinations
If figuring the 2 and 4 ohm

Subs - Sub Ohms - Wiring ohm - Watts/amp watts
3 - 4 - 2.67 - 900 / 811
4 - 4 - 2 - 1200 / 930

3 - 2 - 1.34 - 900 / 1286
4 - 2 - 1 - 1200 / 1500

Since the higher the frequency the ohms can go up, should configure on the 1.7 / 3 ohm spec sheet rating or the 2 / 4 ohm rating they call the sub.

If I go with the 3 spec ohm subs then perfect for my amp using 3 or 4 and order th

If i go with what they call a 2 ohm then it is better paired than the 4 ohm

The 4 ohm does have a higher xmax than the 2 ohm

I have really liked the skar skv2 series amp and was planning on keeping it, I have a pair of skar zvx and a new pair of vvx subs but they are to deep for what i need, i am going to leave the back seat in, and from looking through http://www.loudspeakerdatabase.com I picked out the vegas as making a down fire box

Another idea was using 4 or 6, 6.5" in a front fire box.
6 in a sealed or 4 with 2 10" passive radiators

I want atleast what I had before in my crossfire i had a pair of skar zvx 's in the hatch in sealed boxes.
I have had alot of constant hours driving down interstates and they are as stiff as they where new, ported boxes would be better on the zvx line, but I wanted space so I had room for luggage every week.

And with staying in hotel every week I want to keep under seat and out of sight.

I could just buy a box and a pair of 10's or tripple 8's but as I said, I want atleast what I had or more and with a 8 or 10 inwouldbhave to go with shallow, if 6.5 then I can have deeper since front fire.

I remember when audiobahn advertised a 3 ohm and everyone complained because they where odd and they couldn'tfigure out how to use a calculator to figure out the draw rating, and that was what there rating was.
But the vegas say 4 ohm but specs say 3 ohm

This is comparing resistance vs impedance

Or figuring out some wiring configurations.

I doubt you will get very close to low freq tuning with anything simply because of the box size. Have you looked into porting? It's been a long time since I've done systems but a port might get you tuned closer to say 50 Hz. I really don't know if it's even possible with a tiny box, the tube might have to be 3 feet long, or is it negative 2??..lol I don't remember... I never got into passive radiators, I've seen them years ago when they were still a new thing.

Years ago I dreamed of doing a box with a bunch of 8" 's. I bet it would sound amazing. 6.5s seem a bit small to get good low frequencies but only a test would tell. My record was 149 dB with 2 CV 12's and an Orion 160 watt in a ported box. That Orion put out more like 400 at 2 ohms.

As for impedance, I would setup what you have at the lowest possible ohms that your amp can handle. Ya, ohms it a bit less that impedance. Go by the speakers rated impedance.

I've been thinking about an under the seat box for my Colorado, what ever you do please post up pics for me/us.

I do long drives out of state every week, and I like a good stereo, especially to keep me awake at times.

Looks like the 6.5's have came along ways in past few years.
I have not messed with passive radiators before, but with there tuning on some could help the drop off on the 6.5.

I listen to country and rock and likes a tight sealed box, I like the sound from a sealed that than from a ported.

Is a link you can do the owners manual and look up the stats, but a 10 that only requires .43 cu ft is very small.
There is a tripple 8 mdf box for like 180 or something that I could cut out and fit 3 of these in, but thinking about making a reinforced fiberglass down fire box.
Removing lower seat support, and some extra supports in box to hold seat.
Can raise the front of the seat up 1" and not notice.
I would like to redo the seat mounting so it sits about 1.5" farther forward so the back seat has alittle more recline.

Biggest i have had was in the 90's with 4 audiobahn ultra excursion 12's and 2 power acoustic 2400 watt maps on 3 batteries.
Half volume you could not sit in my Camaro, the amount of air movement felt like it was sucking the air from your lungs.

The skar zvx8 I have in my crossfire and 900 watts rms apiece and they are onky on a .65 cu ft box apiece.

I made 3 or 4 different sealed boxes but ended up going with the smaller boxes in sealed.
The size and how insanely stiff they are, even after 2 years, they would be best in a ported enclosure.

The 2 boxes from my crossfire fit on the back floorboard of my canyon, so once ibwiring up, I could use till I get the permanent setup.

Make adapters from the front door speaker and wire rca onnandnrun to my amp.

My power wire I like using welding leads since they are all pure copper and not just coated.
And it is alot cheaper.
I am all for better and cheaper :)

Yes, I like welding cable too. Plus it's very flexible.

I got my subs and audiocontrol lcq on the way

Debating on the
Banda Expert Electronics PX2 Connect 6 Way, Equalizer 46 Band Sound Processor
Will see how things sound when all done, getting the time to make the box is the problem, it will be time consuming.

I have been looking around but having problems finding a wiring diagram for the Bose amp.
I think I found the colors of the wires that lead tonthe speakers, but I am needing the rest of the wires so I can pigtail off of the wires before they go to the bose amp, then when I change the Bose amp would be a easy quick swap then with RCA.

So if someone has a diagram for the canyon bose amp it would be nice appreciated

Been working on sub box, looks like it will be about 1.78 cu ft of the 1.72 needed.
I can get about .2 to. 3 cu ft more, or leave how it is and use some poly.

I brought it up to 1.906, and gives me some room to add extra bracing.

All the time I have this weekend, will get back on it when i am on my next off duty cycle.

If i can find a wiring diagram for the bose amp i will wire in my audiocontrol LCQ 6 channel, so that part is done.

I ordered the
PAC APH-GM02 AmpPro Speaker Connection Harness
I hope it works for what I want.
