Hey I'm going to put a new head unit, amp, and sub in my crew cab. I haven't decided on what sub set up I'm going with, but I want to go ahead and purchase the head unit ASAP. What are some of the units that yall are running? How do yall like them? If yall have any pictures please post... Thanks

Welcome to the fourm, and what a first question to ask. Almost like which is the best color on our trucks. Everyones going to give you their favorite, so let me start.

Pioneer Premier DEH-P980BT, controls iPod, dvd, other BT audio and Bt for telephones. I like it, but have been shopping around. I only like new stereos until the next new thing comes out.

price range?

im running an alpine 9835, not availible no more. i LOVE this thing, too bad it dont eject or accept disks anymore. theres SO many options as far as crossovers, filters, EQ, time correction, etc. that used to retail for ~700 i think

i will be switching to a kenwood dnx7100 soon, thats a double din 7" touch screen. this retails for ~1700 i do believe (i have seen it as low as 825 or so)

Hey thanks for the info... I know it was a very generalized request, but I want to hear everyone's opinion. If you want something more specific... I am looking to spend anywhere from 300-700 dollars on one. I don't particularly want to spend a grand on one, but don't mind reading opinions on more expensive units either. I think I am leaning more towards a double din. I don't care much about having a nav system, but would like something HD ready, compatible with my iPod and Sirius. I don't really want a flip-out, but I am interested in something that will play DVD's. I hope that narrows it down a little. Help me out guys...

Yea, I can second that, this stuff ain't cheap.

You can be looking at 500-600 bucks for a head unit alone.

This is what im using right now.

For my whole setup it ran me about 1,400 installed with all cables and out the door.
